The Board of Trustees of the City of Lodi convened pursuant to adjournment of November 16th, full board being present. Trustee Hale presided. Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. A permit was granted to A. W. whiting to construct a combined barn and woodshed on lot 14, block 49, Brier & Keeney Addition. A committee from the fire department requested the board to take action in regard to perfecting the fire alarm system and pro- viding proper housing for the fire bell. Trustee Black moved, sec- onded by Trustee. Deaver, that a co-mittee of three, including the President of the Board, be appointed with full power to act, to work in conjunction with the fire department to arrange. for the proper housing of the fire bell. The foregoing motion was carried unani- mously and the chairman appointed Trustees Deaver and Folendorf.. Tne bids of Clark & Henery Construction Company for doing street work in accordance with Notice Inviting Sealed Proposals un- der Resolutions Ordering Street Work Nos. 10, 11 and 12, being the only bids submitted, were opened, read and ordered filed. The following resolutions were preserted,read and adopted: w_3.,RrAS the Board of Trustees of the City of Lodi, did, 1n open session, or, the 18th day of November, 1914, publicly open, examine and declare all sealed;proposala or bids for doing the fol- lowing work in said City, towit:- That Pine street, in said city between the center line of Gar - filed street, and the easterly City Limits be improved by grading the mune for the full width of the roadway from curb to curb, and for the full length thereof, and by constructing on both sides of said roadway, and for the full length thereof, concrete curbs and concrete gutters, said gutters to be fifteen inches wide., extending from the curb toward the denter of said steeet,and by paving the re- mainder of said roadway for the full width thereof, from guttm r to ut•er, and for the full length thereof, with an El Csico asphalt pavement consisting of an El Csico asphaltic wearing surface one inch thick, laid on an asphaltic concrete foundation four inches thick, all of said work is to be done, except where said street has been so graded, and so pavex, guttered and curbed to the official lines and grade, in accordance with the plans and specifications adopted therefor by the Board of Trustees of said city October 9, 1914, to which said plans and specifications reference is hereby 3S3 made for d,scrlption of said work and for furthPr particulars. Entitled, "An Ordinance Licensing for the Purpose of Revenue and Regulation Every Kind of Lawful Business Herein Specified,Trans- acted or Carried On 'Within the Corporate Limits of the City of Lodi, state of California, 21xIng the :ate of License Tax Upon the Same, Providing for the Collection of Said License Tax and Punishment for the Carrying On of Such Business without a License, and Repealirg Certain Ordinances," was read and Platen on passage.
