The Board of Trustees of the City of Lodi convened in regular
session at 8:00 p.m., there being present Trustees Hale, Black and
Polendorf. Trustees Keeney and Deaver were absent.
Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved.
Building permits were granted as follows:
J..N.Scott (for W.1t.Amo3), addition to building 436 Hilborn St.
J.N.Scott,private stable on lot 13, block 6,Barnrart Tract.
J.N.Scott,addition to building on lot 14, block 6, Barnhart
Tract.
Jas. Culbertson (for Ida Hill ), addition to building at 225 •
South ?ee Avenue.
W.P.Lancaster, dwelling at 224 Lancaster Court.
D. B. Rinfret, repairs to building at 127 North Stockton St.
O.M.Harriman, private garage at 23 DePorce Avenue. -
E.E.'iaxwell (for Stephen Squires), dwelling on lot 2, block
6, Barnhart Tract.
Ludwig Reimche (for Menonite Brethren Church), house of wor—
ship on lot 12, block 6, Barnhart Tract.
F. H. Cordway, , repair;:, to stable at 108 S. Stockton-St.
J. A. Jackson, wagon shed at 212 North Main Street.
J. H. Welch, dwelling at 718 Washington Ave. ,Barnhart Tract.
J.4Y.Eolmes, ;swelling on Past 50 feet of lot 3, Block 11, on
West Oak street.
No action was taken upon the application of Angelo Tangretti
to construct a bootblack stand to-be located at No 5 West Elm St.
Upon motion of Trustee Black, seconded by Trustee Polendorf,
E. E. Schlitz was appointed poundmaster.
A communication from Supt. C.Ft.Ketcham of the Southern Pacific
Company regarding complaint of the fire department as to a train de—

laying thJ fire truck on its way to a fire was read and ordered
filed.
Secretary A. C. Wright, Chief Stark and Assistant Chief Wake-
fi�ld of the Fire Department requested the Board to cooperate with
the department with the view of perfecting the fire alarm system
which is ro'Vv unsatisfactory. Th, matter of the city providing a
tower for tho fire bell, and also the storax of gasoline in tanks
abov? ground was discussed and the board appointed Wednesday, Novem-
ber 18th as the ti a! for a co7nittee of the board to meet with the
fire d�pa,rt:rent officials to devise ways and means to obtain the
needed improvements.
The application of Pacific Telephone z Telegraph Company to
j purchase oiv�-half interest in five Doles in the alley betwe?n Cen-
tral Avenue, Filborn St., Cherokee Lane and Flora St., and four
poles on the northerly lino of Tokay St., b-tween .Lincoln Ave,and
Cherok » Lane, was granted. The clerk was instructed to notify the
telephone company statin -r the prices at which the one-half interest
wozL ld be sold.
A deed from G. E. wilhoit et al was presgntpd conveying to
the City of Lodi th-- south 50 feet of lot 28, Larson's Addition ,
for atrH%<t purposes, ,ihich was accepted ar:: ordered filed with the
County Recorder or record.
Affidavits of pu'�licatlon of Notices Inviting Sealed Proposals
for Strut improv-ment under Resolutions of Intention. Nos. 10, 11
and 12 wore presented and upon motion regularly grade, seconded and
carried, were ordered filed.
No further business appearing the board ad.journed until Wed-
nesda,y-, november lath at 7:00 P.M.
