HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes - October 9, 1914FWD 381 Municipal Building,Lodi, Cal., Oct. 9, 1914 The Board of Trustees of the City of Lodi convened pursuant to adjournment of October 5, 1914, at 8:00 p.m. There were present Trus- tees Hale, Black, Keeney and Folendorf. President Hale presided. Minutes of the previous meeting were approved as read. City Engineer Barzellotti presented plans and specifications for the improvement of Pine Street, from center line of Garfield Streit to easterly City Limits, in the City of Lodi, by grading and by con- structing an El Csico pavement and concrete curbs and gutters, which upon motion of Trustee Keeney, seconded by Trustee Folendorf, were adopted by the following vote: Ayes: Keeney, Folendorf, Black, Hale. Noes: None. Absent: Deaver. City Engineer presented plans and specifications for the im- provement of Pine street from Grand Avenue to Garfield street in the City of Lodi, by grading and by constructing an El Csico pavement and concrete curbs and gutters, which upon motion of Trustee Folendorf, seconded by Trustee Black, were adopted by the following vote: Ayes: Folendorf, Black, Hale, Keeney. Noes: None. Absent: Deaver. City Engineer presented plans and specifications for the im- provement of Pine street, from Cherokee street to Grand Avenue, in the City of Lodi, by grading and by constructing an E1 Csico pave- ment and concrete curbs and gutters, which, upon motion of Trustee Black, seconded,by Trustee Folendorf, were adopted by the following vote: Ayes: Black, Folendorf, Keeney, Hale. Noes: None. Absent: Deaver. The following resolution ordering street work was then in- troduced and read: Resolved, By the Board of Trustees of the City of Lodi, that the public interests and convenience require, and it is the inten- tion of said Board to order the following work to be done in said City, towit: That Pine street, in said city, between the center line of Garfield street, and the easterly city limits, be improved by grading the same for the full width of the roadway from curb to curb, and for the full length thereof, and by constructing on both sides of said roadway, and for the full length thereof, concrete curbs and concrete gutters to be fifteen inches wide, extending from the curb toward the center of said street, and by paving the remainder of said roadway, for the full width thereof, from gutter to gutter, and for the full length thereof, with an El Ssico asphalt pavement consisting of an El Csico asphaltic wearing surface one inch thick, laid on an asphaltb concrete foundation four inches thick; all of said work is to be done, except where said street has been so graded, and so paved, guttered and curbed, to the official lines and grade, in accordance with the plans and specifications adopted therefor by the Board of Trustees of said City, October 9, 1914, to which said plans and specifications reference is hereby made for description of said work, and for fur- ther particulars. The Clerk of said City shall cause this resolution to be pub- lish'd twice in the Lodi Post, a semi-weekly newspaper published and circulated in said city, and hereby designated for that purpose by the said Board of Trustees. The Street Superintendent shall, immediately, cause to be con- opicuously posted along the line of said contemplated work and im- provement and in front of all the property liable to be assessed, notice of the passage of this resolution of intention in the manner and form required by law. All of the herein proposed work shall be done in pursuance of an Act of the Legislature of the State of California, designated as the "Improvement Act of 1911", approved April 7, 1911." . Upon motion of Trustee Folendorf, seconded by Trustee Black, the foregoing resolution was adopted by the following vote: Ayes: Hale, Black, Keeney, Folendorf. Noes: None. Absent: Deaver. Resolved, by the Board of Trustees of the City of Lodi, that the public interests and convenience require, and it is the inten- tion of said Board to order the following work to be done in said City, towit: That Pine street, in said city, between the east line of Cher- okee street, and the west line of Grand Avenue, be improved by grad- ing the same for the full width of the roadway from curb to curb, and for the full length thereof, and by constructing on bath sides of said roadway, and for the full length thereof, concrete curbs and concrete gutters, said gutters to be fifteen inches wide, ex- 382 tending from the curb toward the center of said street, and by paving the remainder of said roadway, for the full width thereof, from gutter to gutter, and for the full-length thereof, with an E1 Csico aspahlt pavement consisting of an E1 Csico asphaltic wearing surface one inch thick, laid on an asphaltic concrete foundation four inches thick; all of said work is to be done, except where said street has been so grad- ed, and so paved, guttered and curbed to the official lines and grade, In accordance with the plans and specifications adopted therefor by the Board of Trustees of said city, October 9, 1914, to which said plans and specifications reference is hereby :wade for description of said work, and for further particulars.
