HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes - October 5, 1914Municipal Buildirg,Lodi,Cal. ,0ct.5,1914. The Board of Trustees of the City of Lodi convened in regular session at 8:00 p.rn. There were present Trustees Hale, Black, Keeney and Folendorf. Trustee Deaver absent. President Hale presided. Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. The following building permits were granted: Sievers & Gatzert, addition to building at 23 West Elm St. W.J.Jones, rabbit per at 435 East Pine St. W.J.Jones, poultry house at 435 East Pine St. Jules Perrin, addition to dwelling at 500 Hilborn St. .Jules Perrin, to raze building at 209 S. Sacramento St. C.J.Weber, dwelling on Lot 22,Block 3, west Pine St. 0.A.Schroeder, dwelling on Lot 24,Schroeder Tract. 0.A.Schroeder, alterations at 10 N.Hutchins St. W.J.Marchand,private garage at 118 1.Sacramento St. Sam Morrow, horse shed at Lot 3,Block 5,Barnhart Tract. •O.W.Kinney,•skating rink on Lot 5,Block 14,N.Sacramento St. Henry Perrin was granted a permit to carry sixty gallons of gasoline at his private garage 346 East Pine St. cormpunication Was received from Manager Kahn of the.Western States Gas & Electric Company requesting the Board to meet with him at 2:30 p.m. October 6th. The tine not being convenient for all memr hers of the Public Utilities Committee arrangements were made-for the meeting-to take place at 8:00 p.m October 7th, to discuss the matter of purchasing the company's electric system in the territory ,recently annexed. A communication from W.T.Tea ue stated that the Pacific Tele- phone and Telegraph Company wished to purchase a one-half interest in one 35-foot pole located on the east line of the alley between Oak, Sacramento, Pine and School streets. .Upon motion regularly made, seconded and carried the Clerk was instructed to communicate with the company and state that the price would be 05 for a one-half in- -terest in the pole mentioned. Superir_tendent'of Streets Coleman's certificate of acceptance of East Pine street from the east line Of Main street to the east line of Stockton street was read and ordered filed. City Marshal Colemen, in a communication to the Board, re- quested an increase in salary from ;75 to1100 per month. The mat- ter was referred to the Committee of the Whole. R. A. Buchanan and others petitioned the Board for a street light on Central Avenue at the new Lodi English-Seventh Day Adven- tist Church. Upon motion Superintendent Herring was instructed to p provide the light asked for. President-of the School Board George L.Meissner,in a letter to the Board, requested that the Salem school grounds be sprinkled until sufficient rains come to lay the dust. The request was re- ferred to the street committee. City Mar.ha1' Coleman's report for the month of September was read and ordered filed. City Treasurer Lorenz' report for the quarter ending Sep- tember 30th was read and ordered filed. The annual reports of the City Clerk and Secretary of the Library Board were presented and ordered filed. Claims against the City amounting to $4026.59 were allowed and ordered paid.
