Upon i.,otion t?:e report was accepted, - The petition of Lodi Will & W& Company .and others, asking for a reduced -rate for, electric current was referred to the CQ=1ttee- on Public- Utilities. Superintendent of Public Utilities Henning reported that the sewer extenzion. on south Sacramento street was prac- tically completed, con.: sct::on havir.L b?en made wit, the maiKs, F4'i11; Also that he had received application for ligr�t connections in the Hutchins Addition, newly annexed territory, in which the city at present has no lines. The matter was left in the r_anas of the President of the Board for imrestigrtion and repot: as to what the Western states Gas & Electric Company would be willing to do toward turning over to the city their business in that section. Upon motion, the claim of Sharles Hanson, a veteran of the. Civil War, for a refund of $6.25 taxes, was ordered paid. Other claims against t:.e city amounting to $3941.07 were allowe3 and ordered paid. The monthly report of City Marshal Colemen was read and acceptal. The personal surety bond of $12000 with George W. Le}:cin, John B. Cory, Wilson H. Thompson, T.I:.Beckrman, H. C. Beckman and H1111arl H. Welch as sureties, filed by City Treasure: V.H. Lorenz, waa read and referred to the Cc —Atee on Finance and Revome Upor_ motion rega ly made, seconded and carriet unar1- mously the appointment® of H.B.Colemen,City Marshal; J.A.Herzing, Supt. Public Utilities; and L.F.Barzellotti, City Hr_glneer,were confirmed. The matter of locating public watering troughs at con- venient places on the west side of town was referred to the Committee on Streets. Upon tha suggestion of Trustee Folendorf it was moved, seconded and carried that the Co=mittee of Public Works be authorized to have rrected a suitable flag pole upon the =a- nic:pal building and purchase a flag for the same to be dis- playel there contir„iously. The Board of Health discussed informally with the Board of Trustees the urgent need of a pimbing ordinance t..at mould give to the city's officers authority to enforce all necessary health regulations; also th.-4 need of some -permanent a.rrarie — men. to rid the city of stray dogs. Upon motion the Supt, of Public Dt_lities was Instruct- ed to have prapared a list of na=es of owners of property which is not cor�nected with sewers, where sewers are available, for the use of the Board of Health. It was regularly moved, seconded and carried that the City Y -t neer be InBtructee to locate the curb lines 15 feet from the property lines at the intersecticrs of Pine street rrith Stockton_ a.r_d Cherolcee streets. It was regularly moves by Trustee Folendorf, seconded by Trustee Deaver, that the gages paid laborers employed by the city should be hereafter $2.25 per day, e_feetive PMy 1, 1914.
