Municipal Building.Lodi.California.Feb.2,1914.
In regular session of the Board of Trustees of the City
of Lodi,the following trustees being present: Ex C.A.Black,J.M.
Blodgett,F.O.Hale.G.E.Lawrence and C.A.R1ch. President Lawrence pres-
iding,
The minutes of the meeting January 19.1914.were read and
approved.
A communication from Laegue of California Munciipalities
in regard to "Home Rule in Taxation" was ream and referred to the
Committee of the Whole.
Coms:znication from 3oard of Underwriters,criticising the
water mains in the congested district and perfumed with compound
consentrated extract of ensilage,was read and referred to Committee
of the whole.
W.J.Robinson and other property owners on E.Pine Street
suggested that.if the city would pave the street intersections.the
property owners would gladly pay for the frontage pavement of lots.
The matter was referred to the Committee of the Whole.
H.E.Welch stated that the Traction Company should be
granted permission to put in the necessary switch on North Sacramento
Street to enable them to by-pass cars. President Lawrence stated
that it would be necessary for the Company to apply for a franchise.
A communication from Graves -Spear Company.asking the Board
to investigate their rollers before purchasing,was read and filed.
A communication from City Clerk suggesting the appointment
of a janitor for the city offices was referred to Committee of the
Whole.
The application of City Street Improvement Company for
permission to improve E.Pine Street was read and referred to Com.
of the Whole.
A report from City Engineer Barzellotti mason the question
of drainage was referred to Street Committee.
The report of Marshal Coleman for the month of January
was read and accepted.
The following applications for Building permits were read
and granted:
Ed Frey.dwelli::g on Daisy Avenue;
R.M.Combs,garage on lot 7 block 12.Hutehins Add.;
Mrs.S.E.E.Housh,brick bldg.on lot 13 block 16,and moving of bldg
on same lot.
The application of Mrs.S.E.E.Housh for permission to construct
a bldg of corrugated iron was denied,for the reason th-:.t the building
proposed was in the district in which the Board had decided to limit
construction to stone or weed.j.%u\'
The matter of abandoning part of North School Street was
referred to Street Committee.
The application of Ed Frey for Water and Sewerage on
South side of Daisy Avenue near city limits was referred to Public
Utilities Committee.
The matter of Signal light was referred to Marshal and
Supt.Public Utilities.
Insurance of $1000. on library furniture ordered renewed.
Various claims against the cit: amounting to 4C81.60,
having been approved by the Finance Cor_inittee,were allowed and order -
payed.
Or. motion of Black.seconded by Hale,the Finance Committee
was authorized to order payemtn of bill for wire.subjeet to discount.
On motion of Bledgett,it was ordered that sewer be extended
to G.G.Hieb Tokay and Stockton Sts.
The Board adjourned.
