In regular session of the Board of Tru -tees of the City of Lodi,the following trustees being present: C.A.31ack.R.O.Hale,G.E. Lawrence and C.A.Rich. Absent: Trustee J.]..3lodgett. President Lawrence presiding. The minute:, of the meeting of Jan.5,1914,were read and approved. A letter from Mrs.John C.Coehra::,Rcscom on.Lich..asiting for information of Tom Rine.was read and filed. A communication from State Compensation Insurance Fund, setting forth rates for municipal insurance,was read and referred to Clerk and Committee of the Whole. The application of Carl G.Williams for permission to operate a motor vehicle on the streets of the City of Lodi was.read.and,on motion granted. Secretary A.C.Wright and Chief E.H.Stark of the Lodi Fire Department submitted plans for a tower for a bell.stating,that the cost would be $175.0G.of which sum the Fire Department would pay • ore half. • W.P.Boden asked that that part of School Street thrown the ]loran—Handel Tract be narrowed to sixty feet by abandoning the West twebty feet to the abutting property. On motion of Rich.seconded by Hale,it was ordered that the necessary papers be prepared. G.G.iepper stated that he was authorized by a majority of the property owners or. Rush Avenue to ask for the opening of a street through to Locust Street. Referred to Street Committee. J.J.Sinai.representing the Austin—Western Company,offered the City a road—roller.that had been used once.for $2400.Stated that the purce new was $3250. Referred to Street Committee and St.Supt. A request from Woman's Economic Club of Lodi for the use of the City] Hall for Tuesday evening was -ranted. The report of Engineer Barzel'ottJ on the question of poles in the sidewalk on Lodi Avenue was read,and the whsle matter tabled indefinitely. The reports of the City Clerk and the City Treasurer for the quarter ending De^ember 31,1913.were read and accepted. The following applications for Building Permits were reaH and granted: J.W.Crose.dwelling or lot 25 bloc. 48 Brier & Keeney Addition; Mrs.S.E.E.Housh.moving of building on lots 13&.14 block 18. Another application form Mrs.S.E.E.Hous^ to rove a building was laid on tie table and referred to Committee of the Whole. Claims against the Cit?,amounting to $76.50.having been approved by Finance Corrrittee.were allowed and ordered payed. A petition ofr crosswalks was reat and referred Com. of Whole.
