Pursuant to adjournment of Sept. 6th the Board of TrusteeS Of the City of Lodi convened at 8 o'clock p.m., there being pres- ent Trustees Montgomery, Hale and Rich. absent Trustees Crose and Hickok. Ilirutea or the meeting of Septeuber 6th were read and ap- proved . Health Officer Honrine was granted leave of absence for four Weeks beginning September 16th. Letters from several charter citiee of California, accom- panied by copies of their crarters, having been received in re- sponse to inquiries sent out by the City Clerk ware read and dis- cussed by W. H. Faust, R. J. Custer, J. M. McMahon, City Attorney V Steele and members of the Board. It was decided to take no action, thereby leaving the matter of calling an election to be initiated by petition. 0.H.Gillette asked the Board to provide better water ser- vice at the San Joaquin Table Grape Growers' Association fruit shed on ;.north Main Street and Superintendent Henning was thereupon in- structed to extend a two-inch main to the property line of said company's lot. kr. Gillette also reported a nuisance in the rear of a cer- tain business place on Sacramento street near the above named com- pany's office. The natter was referred to the Health officer. Robt. 'i. Combs applied for a card room lice ase at No. 7 South Sacramento Street, whiCh was granted. Theodore Agalianos was granted license for a card room. at .o. 10 South Main Street. Upon motion of Trustee Rich, seconded by Trustee Hale,C.D. Warren was employed to collect wet garbage from each residence and business place in the City, his compensation to be §75.00 per month for collecting three times a week and #60.00 per month for collect- ing twice a creek. The City Attorney was requested to secure definite infor— mation as to the intentions of Central California Traction Company in the tatter of paving Sacramento Street and Lodi Avenue and report his findings to the Board at its next meeting. The request of Mr. McCausland for permission to remove a number of trees on South School Street at the Christian C;iurch prop— erty ;ray referred to the City Plarnlnj Corc.uission. Thirteen applications for building permits were read, grant— ed and ordered filed. Miscellaneous bills amour_tinot o 48532.14, having been aud— ited by t.^--3 finance committee, were allowed and ordered paid.
