The Board of Trustees of the City of Lodi convened in regula r session at 8 o'clock p.m., there being present Trustees Montgomery, Hale, Hickok and Rich. Trustee Crose absent. Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. in the matter of the improvement of Elm Street, in the City of Lodi, under Resolution of Intention No. 28, and in response to Notice Inviting Sealed Proposals published by the City Clerk, bids were received as follows: Clark i Henery Construction Company— Grading at g .02 per square foot. Warenite pavement complete at 4 .195 " N Concrete curbs at 4 .48 " linear Concrete gutters at $ .224 " square " Federal Construction Company -- For grading per square foot Three Cents. For Paving per square foot Twenty one Cents. For gutters per square foot Twenty Cents. For Curbs per lineal foot Forty eight Cents. For Cut per cubic yard One Dollar Fifty Cents. For fill per cubic yard Fifty Cents. RESOLUTION ON AWARD. WHEREAS, the Board of Trustees of the City of Lodi, did, in open session, on the 19th day of July, A.D.1920, publicly open, examine and declare all sealed proposals or bids for doing certain street work in said City, under and in pursuance of the *Improve- ment Act of 1911", the names of the streets and highways proposed to be improved and the location and character of said proposed work being described in the Resolution of Intention No. 28, of said Board of Trustees, adopted the 24th day of May, 1920, which reso- lution of intention is hereby expressly referred to for further particulars. RESOLVED, that the said Board of Trustees hereby reject all said proposals or bids except that next herein mentioned, and hereby awards the contract for doing said work and improvement to the lowest responsible bidder, to -wit: - CLARK HENERY CONSTRUCTION COMPANY, at the price named in its bid. The City Clerk is hereby directed to post notice of this award conspicuously for five days, on or near the Council Chamber door of this Board of Trustees and also publish said no- tice three times in "The Lodi Sentinel", a tri -weekly newspaper published and circulated in said City, and hereby designated for that purpose by said Board, said newspaper being the official newspaper of said City of Lodi. Notice is hereby given that serial bonds to represent Un- paid assessments and to bear interest at the rate of seven(712) per centum per annum, will be issued hereunder in the manner pro- vided by the "Improvement Bond Act of 1915," the last install- ment of which bonds shall mature Nine (9) years from the 2nd day of July, next succeeding 9 months from their date. vote: The foregoing resolution was auopted by the following Ayes: Truatees Rich, Hickok, Hale and Montgomery. Noes: None. Absent: Trustee Crose. Trustee Rich moved, seconded by Trustee Hickok, that the President of the Board be hereby instructed and directed to ex- ecute the annual wattmeter contract with General Electric Com- pany, which motion was adopted. 'Report of the City Plumbing Inspector for tiia month of .June was read and ordered filed. A communication from Yortherr. San Joaquin Netts, asking for a c2arxe to bid on the city prirtin7 and advertising, was read and ordered filed. The City Engineer reported he had made a survey in the matter of application for sewer extension by O..T.Hemphill and found that it would require the laying of W_50 feet of sewer pipe at maximum depth of three feet. Uiscellaneous bills amounting to ;2772.09 were allowed and ordered ;aid. Upon motion regularly made, seconded and adopted, the Eoarc adjourned to meet again at 8 o'clocic p.m. Ronday, Tulyy 26th.
