Pursuant to adjournment of May 17th the Board of Trustees
of the City of Lodi convened at 8 o'clock p.m., President of the
Board Montgomery presiding.
Trustees Montgomery, Hale, Rich and Hickok answered to roll
call, Trustee Crose being absent on account of illness.
Minutes of the regular meeting of May 17th were read and
approved.
In the matter of the application of R. M. Atkinson to move
and remodel five small buildings to be located on the reser of lots
6 and 7, block 31, referred to Fire Chief Stark May 17th, Chief
Stark reported that the structures would not constitute an increased
fire hazard and that there was no objection on the part of the firs
department, whereupon Trustee Rich moved, second by Trustee Hickok,
that the permit be granted, which motion was adopted.-.
P. J. Beaty reported to the Board that water pressure was
extremely low at his home on East Lodi Avenue. After discussion of
the matter Superintendent Henning recommended that an auxiliary
plant of 1600 gallons per minute capacity be installed in the Barn-
hart Tract near the South City Limits. The Superintendent was in-
structed to ascertain what such a plant would cost, the length of
time necessary to procure and install the same and to look for a
auitable location.
City Engineer Barzelloti presented plans and specifica-
tions for the improvement of a portion of West Elm Street, where •

upon the following resolution was introduced by Trustee Hale.
RESOLUTION NO. 109.
RESOLUTION ADOPTING PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS FOR THE IM-
PROVEMENT OF nT.M STREET, IN TEE CITY OF LODI, COUNTY OP SAN JOA-
QUIN, STATE OF CALIFORNIA, AS PREPARED BY THE CITY ENGINEER OF
SAID CITY OF LODI.
RESOLVED, that the plans and specifications for the im-
provement of Elm Street, in said City of Lodi,- iron the East line
of Hutchins Street to its West terminal, said West terminal being
the west line produced Southerly of Lot Numbered Twenty -.Five (25),
in the Schroeder Addition to Lodi, as per map of said Addition on
file in the office of the County Recorder of the County of San
Joaquin, --excepting however, such portion as is required by law
to be kept in order or repair by any person or company having rail-
road tracks thereon, submitted by L. F. Barzellotti, City Engineer,

Upon motion of Trustee Hale, seconded by Trustee Rich,the
foregoing resolution was adopted by the following vote:
Ayes; Trustees Hale, Rich, Hickok and Montgomery.
Noes: None.
Absent: Trustee Crose.

Upon motion of Trustee Hickok, seconded by Trustee Rich, the
salary of Deputy City Clerk :Effie L. Griffin, was increased to #120
per month, effective June 1st, 1920.
Upon motion of Trustee Hickok, seconded by Trustee Hale, the
salary of Superintendent of Public Utilities John A. Henning was
Increased to 4200 per month effective June 1st, 1920.
Several applications for the position of manager and matron
of the municipal baths being on file were given consideration and
upon motion of Trustee Hale, seconded by Trustee Hickok, Mrs.R.W.
Yount was employed as Matron Marager.
Upon motion, of Truatee Rich, seconded by Trustee Hickok, the
salary of Matron—Uarager of the municipal baths wai fixed at 0125
per month.
It was decided to open the municipal baths on Tuesday, June
1st, 1920.
Trustee Rich moved, seconded by Trustee Hale , that hereafter
t:nare should be no waiver of the license fee provided by section
lo, of Ordinance No. 82. The Lotion was adopted by unanimous vote.
No further business appearing the Board adjourned until the
next rebular meeting, Jor_day, June 7th, 1920.
