Pursuant to adjournment of April 19th the Board of Trus-
tees of the City of Lodi convened at 8 o'clock p.m. , there being
present. Trustees Montgomery, Hale, Rich and Hickok. Trustee Crose
absent.
Minutes of the meeting of April 19th were read and ap-
proved.
RESOLUTION NO. 105.
In the matter of the Application of PACIFIC FRUIT EX-
CHANGE, INCORPORATED, a corporation, for a spur track.
Resolution Passing Ordinance to Print.
PACIFIC FRUIT EXCHANGE, INCORPORATED, a corporation
duly organized and existing under and by virtue of the laws of
the State of ' California, and having its office and principal
place of business in the city of Sacramento, County of Sacra-
mento, State of California, and transacting business in the
City of Lodi, County of San Joaquin, State of California, hav-
ing, on the 19th day of April, 1920, filed its petition with
this, the Boars or Trustees of the City of Lodi, County of San
Joaquin, State of California, praying for an Ordinance granting
to it, its successors and assigns, the right, privilege and per-
mission to construct, lay down, and maintain, a railroad track
of 3tanaard gauge, and to pass with, and operate, with locomo-
tives and cars, Propelled by steam, electricity, or other lawful
motive power, over, along, upon and across, 'certain streets,por-
tions of streets, and other places lathe City of Lodi, County of
San Joaquin, State of California, and on the 19th day of April,
1920, the said PACIFIC FRUIT EXCHANGE, INCORPORATED, a corpora-
tion, presented to, and there was filed with, this, the Board of
Trustees of the City of Lodi, an ordinane a in accordance with
the prayer of its said petition, and more than Five (5) days hav-
ing elapsed and passed since the introduction and Piling of the
aforesaid Ordinance with this, the Board of Trustees of the City
of Lodi, and the said 0rdinanee, which 13 NO. 113, having been
duly considered at this meeting of the Board of Trustees of the
City of Lodi, and it appearing to the satisfaction of this Board
of Trustees that the said PACIFIC FRUIT EXCHANGE, INCORPORATED,
a corporation, is entitled to have the said 0rdinanae granted,
and that the said is just, proper and legal; '
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED; That the aforesaid Or-
dinanee No. 113 be, and the same hereby 1s, Ordered to be pub-
lished once in The Northern San Joaquin County News, a news-
paper of general Eireulation, printed and published semi-weekly,
in the City of Lodi, County of San Joaquin, State of California,
and that said Ordinance shall take effect thirty (30) days from
and after the completion of said publication, and be signed and
approved by the President of this, the Board of Trustees of the
City of Lodi, who is the executive or said City of Lodi.

Upon motion of Trustee Hale, seconded by Trustee Rich,
the forgoing resolution was adopted by the following vote:
Ayes: Trustees Hale, Riah, Hickok, and ?tontgomery.
Noes; None.
Abse nt: Trustee Crose.
Eight applications for building permits were read,
granted and ordered filed.
The matter or the Land Army's occupancy of the City Park
having been continued from April 19th to thie date, a large dele-
gations of citizens objecting to the Land Army remaining further
in that location were present. W. A. Young, W. J. Robinson, Mrs.
J.B.Waugh and others voiced their objections and City Attorney
Steele pointed out the law governing the matter. After further
discussion by the Board members President of the Board Montgom-
ery announced that no further action in the matter was necessary
and the action of the Board already taken woula have to stand.

Upon motion of Trustee Rich, seconded by Trustee Hale,
Chairman of the Street Committee Hic3cok was authorized to ascer-
tain the number of speed limits sib necessary to comply with the
law and also the cost of the same.
lo= Bauer, Director of the Tokay City Band, offered. to
render during the coming summer twelve open air concerts in the City
Par's for 4800. The matter was laid over for one weeb.
The City ErEngineer was authorized to prepare tine City Plat
Boolc on tracing page r and to hereafter provide printed copies of
tae same for use of the City Assesaor.
Upon motion of Trustee Iiokok, seconded by Trustee ricin,
the Board authorized the_ employment of George W. Lelloin as deputy
assessor, his compansation to.be $4.00 per day.
No further business appearing the Board adjourned until
the next regular meeting, Uay 3rd, 1920.
