The Board of Trustees of the City o. Lodi convened in regu-
lar session at 8 o'clock p.m., there being present Trustees Black,
Crose, Montgomery and Morehead. Trustee Hale absent.
Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved.
The following building permits were granted:
Earl Fruit Co., packing shed and office on E a of lots 4, 5
and 6, block 23, City of Lodi.
Jacob Gatzert,•bake shop, 41 South Sacramento Street.
B. Herrickson, dwelling, lot 6, block 5, Barnhart Tract.
H. M. Smith recuested the Board to give him permission to
lay a six-foot sidewalk in front of his property on South Sacra-
mento street instead of a twelve -foot walk as previously ordered
by the Board. The matter was taken under advisement.
F. R. Spoerice asked the Board to grant permission to con-
nect his property to the City sewers, such property being outside
the City Limits. The City Attorney was requested to ascertain if
there is some legal way this could be done.
W. H. Lorenz presented a petition of property owners on
South School street requesting the Board of Trustees to order the
paving of that street. Trustee Crose moved, seconded by Trustee
Montgomery, that the petition be accepted and take the regular
course, which motion was adopted.
Trustee Montgomery coved, seconded by Trustee Crose, that
the City Engineer be directed to prepare plans and specifications
for the improvement of North Sacramento Street, from the South
line of Lockeford Street to the City Limits on the North, by grad-
ing the same and constructing thereon a pavement, gutters and
curbs. The motion was adopted by the following vote:
Ayes: Trustees Montgomery, Crose, Morehead and Black.
Noes: None.
Absent: !trustee Hale.
Upon motion of Trustee Montgomery, seconded by Trustee Crose,
the City Clerk was directed to advertise for 4000 feet of 24 -inch
cement pipe for storm sewer outlet.
The City Clerk was authorized to return to W.H.Graham & Co.
and Ed Spiekerman their certified checks .Tiled with their bids
for cement pipe and to accept from them certified checks to the
amount of 10$ per cent of the contract price of the work.
The matter of placing lights on street traffic signs for
safety was referred to the Street Superintendent and Street Com

zsittee.
Bilis amounting to $1000.50 were allowed and ordered paid.
Upon motion of Trustee Montgomery, seconded by Trustee
Morehead the Board adjourned to meet again Monday, May 26th,1919,
at 8 o'clock p.m. 7/C/444
