HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes - April 14, 1919City Hall, Lodi, Cal., April 14, 1919 Pursuant to adjournment of April 7th the Board of Trustees of the City of Lodi convened in regular adjourned session at 8 o'clock p.m., there being present Trustees Black, Hale, Crose, Hontgomery and Morehead. ?Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. The -following building and removal permits were granted: ':Y.J.Robinson & Son, addition to Sales room lot 8,block 45. L.M.Johnson, dwelling lot 13, block 44, Ivory's Addition. -S. McGlothlen, temp, dwelling, lot 4,. block 9, Lodi Barn- hart Tract. i S.S.Vurphy, porch 112 Wiest Elm Street. Roy S. Mills, to move dwelling to lot 5, block 39, City of Lodi. .john Bauer, leader of the Tokay Band offered to furnish twelve open air band concerts to begin June 10th, in the City Park,•for $650. The communication was ordered filed. In the matter of the improvement of Lee Avenue and Locust street, this being the time and place set for hearing protests, as provided in Resolutions of Intention. Jos. 18 and 19, adopted Yarch 24th,1919, the City Clerk reported that no Protests had been presented or filed. Upon motion of Trustee Cross, seconded by Trustee Uorehead, Charles E. Durston was appointed Manager of the Municipal Baths for the coning season. A communication was received from Charles H. Small of San Francisco regarding a proposed swimming meet to be held some time during the coming season at the 'Municipal Baths. which was referred to the newly -appointed manager. Upon motion of Trustee Liontgomery, seconded by Trustee Morehead, :Mrs. Dora E. Stanfield was appointed Matron of the Municipal Baths by unanimous vote of the Board. Trustee ]Montgomery moved, seconded by Trustee Cross, that the City Clerk be authorized and directed to advertise for bids for 8" 10" 14" 16" 18" and 20" vitrified and cement pipe for storm sewers in amounts to correspond with the City Engineer's estimate submitted to the Hoard; also to ask for alternate bids for the pipe alone and for the pipe laid in trenchprepared by the City; said call for bids also to include the necessary man- holes. rings, covers and dustpans. The motion was adopted by unanimous vote of the Hoard. President of *he Board Black announced a rearrangement of co-Lnittees of the Board as follows: Trustee 'Montgomery to be Chairman of the Committee on Finance and Revenue; Trustee More- head to be a member of the above committee; Trustee Morehead to be Chairman of the Committee on Public 'Utilities and also a member of the Committee on Public Morals and Safety. Upon motion regularly made, seconded and carried the Board adjourned to meet again Wednesday, April 161919, at 8 o'clock Attest: City Clerk. City Hall, Lodi. Cal.. April 16,1919. Trustees Montgomery and Forehead absent. Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. This meeting having been called for taking up certain pro- ceedings in the matter of improvement of Lee Avenue and Locust St., and the City attorney being absent, Trustee Bale moved. seconded by Trustee Cross that the meeting be adjourned to 8 o'clock p.m., April 17th, which motion was adopted.
