In regular session of the Board of Trustees of the City of Lodi, held this date, there were prsent Trustees Black, Hale, Grose and Montgomery. Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. The following building permits were granted:. H. F. Welch, addition to dwg at 415 West Pine St. Robert Erdmann, dwelling 230 Flora St. J. A. Hedberg, brooder house Cor. Cher. Lane and Flora. F. F. Irey, to remodel bldg at 19 North Sacramento St. Fred Bender, private garage 320 Lodi -Avenue. W. D. Voorhies, addition to building at lot 3,block 16. J. Cl. Hieb, dwelling 421 North School St. G.B.Focacci, private stable 421 West Lockeford St. D.W.Aronholt, dwelling 417 North School St. H.B.Stannard, dwelling, lot 1, block. 11,City of Lodi. ?i.L.Wallace, temp. dwelling lot 33,Barnhart Tract. W. S. Jefferson, temp. dwelling,lot 33,Barnhart Tract. C.E.Holmes,to mcve building from202 W.Oak Street to lo- cation in the 500 block,west side of South School St. The application of Charles Hamilton for position as Man- ager of the runiciral Baths was read and ordered filed. The application of Associated Oil Company for a permit to install an oil service station at northeast corner of Pine and Cherokee Ste., the building to be of all steel and glass con- struction, with privilege to store 1160 gallons of gasoline and distillates in underground tanks was upon motion of Trustee Hale, ' seconded by Trustee Montgomery, granted. RESOLUTION NO. 41. WHEREAS, the LODI STORAGE. & MILLING COMPANY, a corzora- tion, by written offer filed with this Board, offering b sell to the City of Lodi that certain lot, piece or parcel of land, situ- ate, lying and being in the County of San Joaquin, State of Califor- nia, and bounded and particularly described as followst- Comnencing at the intersection of the east line of North School Street with the south line of Louie Avenue produced east- erly; running thence easterly and along said production of Louie Avenue to its intersection with the west line of North Sacramento Street produced sixty (60) feet to a point in the same; thence westerly and along the north line of Louie Avenue produced east- erly to its intersection with the east line of North School Street produced Northerly; thence southerly and along 'said pro- duction ro-duction of the east line of North School Street sixty (o0} feet to 'the point of beginning. AND WHEREAS, this Board by resolution duly passed and adopted on the 17th day of March, A.D.1919, accepted said offer and agreed, upon the delivery of the deed of said land, to pay the sum of 01000.00 to said LODI STORAGE & MILLING COI.SPADY on or be- fore July 20, 19120; AND WHEREAS, this Board has been advised by its City At- torney that there is a question as to the legality of the pur- chase of said land and the payment therefor in such manner, and s said LODI STCRAGE & KILLING COMPANY consenting, it is, - THEREFORE RESOLVED, that said resolution accepting said offer and ordering the payment of said 111000.00 as aforesaid, to said LODI STORAGE & MILLI' G C0?PANY, be, and it is hereby rescinded and shall be of no :'orce and effect, and this Board further finds that said LODI STORAGE & VIL1I14TG COUPANY, BY ITS A(7.NT and representative, HILLIARD I% WELCH, expressly consented to the rescinding of said reso- lution and withdraws its offer to sell said land to said City of Lodi. The foregoing resolution No. 41 was regularly adopted by the following vote: Ayes: Trustees Hale, Montgomery, Crose and Black. Noes: None. Absent: None. Trustee Hale moved, seconded by Trustee Montgomery, that W.A. I;OPEMAD be appointed a member of the Board of Trustees of the City of Lodi to fill the vacancy caused by the resignation of E. M. Keeney. The motion was adopted by the following vote: Ayes: Trustees Hale, Vontgomery, Croee and Black. Noes: None. Absent: None. RESOLUTION NO. 42. "ITE?EAS, there has been presented to the Board of Trustees of the City of Lodi, County of San Joaquin, State of California, a. map of a subdivisidn of land laid out in lots for the purpose of sale entitled "TFC' SMTGUINETTI ADDITION"; and WHEREAS, such subdivision conforms witli the lines of streets, avenues and alleys adjacent to the same; and TFr,+R,EAS, such a map has been approved and its adoption has been recomnemded by the City :.ngineer of said City of Lodi; be it RESOLVED, by the Board of Trustees of said City of Lodi that such a map be, and the same is hereby approved; that the President of this Board be, and he is, hereby authorized and directed to endorse upon said map the approval of said Board; and be it further RESOLVED, THAT ALL STRTMTS, AVENUES AND ALLEYS SHOCK; IN THIS map and offered for dedication be, a.nd the same are hereby accepted on behalf of the public for public use. RESOLUTION NO. 41. WHEFEAS, THEPX has been presented to the Board of Trustees of the City of Lodi, County of San Joaquin, State of California, a map of a subdivision of land laid out in lots for the purpose of sale entitled _BECKEAN TRACT"; and WHEREAS, such subdivision conforms with the lines of streets, avenues and alleys.adjacent to the same; and WHEEREAS, such a,map has been approved and its adoption has been recommended by the City Engineer of said City of Lodi; be it F.ESOLVED, by the Board of Trustees of said City of Lodi that such a map be, and the same is hereby approved; that the President of this Board be, and is hereby authorized and directed to endorse upon said map the approval of said Board; and be it further 'MOVIED, that all streets, avenues and alleys shown in this map and offered for dedication be and the sac:e are hereby accepted on behalf of the public for public use. PESOLUTIOII 170. 44. 41?•M-FMAS, there has been presented to the Board of Trustees of the City of Lodi, County of San Joaquin, State of California, a. map of a smbdivision cf land laid out in lots for the purpose of sale. entitled "SITESS TRACT"; and WHEREAS, such subdivision conforms with the lines of streets, avenues and alleys adjacent to the same; and M..FEAS, such a map has been approved and its adoption has been recommended by the City Engineer of said City of Lodi; be it RESOLVED, by the Board of Trustees of said City of Lodi that such a map be and the sane is hereby approved; that the President of this Board be and is hereby authorized and directed to endorse upon sai� map the approval of said Board; and be it RESOLVED, that all streets, -avenues and alleys shown in this map and offered for dedication be and are hereby accepted on behalf of the public for public use. A petition representing more than 51% of the frontage on mast Oak Street raving been filed Trustee Cross moved, seconded by Trustee Hale, that the City Engineer be instructed to prepare plans and specifications for the improvement of that street from the east -line of Sacramento street to the rest line of Cherokee Lane. The mo- tion was adopted by unanimous vote of the Board. Upon motion of Trustee Hale, seconded by Trustee Crose, it was ordered that all new sidewalks to be constructed on South Sacra- mento street, from Oak street to Lodi Avenue, shall be twelve feet in width. Trustee Hale roved, seconded by Trustee Crose, that the City Engineer be instructed to prepare plans and specifications for the improvement of Lodi Avenue, from the west line of Cherokee Lane to the east line of Huto'nins street. The notion was adopted by the follow - ing vote: Ayes: Trustees Hale, Crose, Montgomery. ',orehead and Flack. Noes, :;one. Absent: None. RESOLUTION IAO. 45 RESOLUTION GIVING CONSENT TO TRANSFER OI' LIMISE. WESPEAS, J. J. CRA FORD has presented an application to this Board asking its consent to the transfer to said applicant by ROBERT SAMT a.nd OSCAR. BA2:yT, of the license to sell and serve vinous and cult liquor with meals in the HOTEL LODI, heretofore issued to said F.OTERT SAYET and OSCAR SAIMT by the City of Lodi, and VirREAS , it appears that said j. J, CPA7VORD has purchased the hotel business, as set forth in said application, and said applica- tion being in due form and accompanied by a proper bond, duly approved by the President of this Boazd, now therefore BE IT RESOLVED, that.the consent of this Board be, and it is. hereby -iven to the transfer of said license by said ROBERT SA?MT- and OSCAP SA3=�T to said J. J. CRAWFORD. Trustee Crose moved the adon_tion of the above resolution as read, which mottan was seconded by Trustee k.ontgamery, and carried by the following, vote: Ayes: Trustees Crose, :�ontgomery. Hale,iiorehead and Black. Noes: 'None. Absent. None. Upon motion of Trustee Montgomery, seconded by Trustee Yorehead, Supt. Henning was authorized to place an order for water pipe with American Cast Iron Pipe Co., to be shipped from the East, or if necessary to purchase same from their San Francisco stock. Bills amounting to $6025.79, having been passed by the Finance Co=aittee, were allowed and ordered paid.
