The Board of Trustees of the City of Lodi convened in regular
Session. at 3 o'clock p.m., there being present Trustees Black, Hale,
Keeney, Cr03e and 'Sontgomery.
Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved.
The following building permits were granted:
Henry Frey Jr.,temporary dwelling,lot 9, E. * or block 9,.
Barnhart Tract.
Henry Frey 7r.,d*elling lot 9, E. of block 9,Barnhart Tract.
S. McGlothlen, arage lot 1, block 9, Barnhart Tract.
M. L. Ryan, addition to dwelling 424 Eden street,Batnhart Tract.
G.G.Romfeldt, poultry house, lot 14, block 5, Barnhart Tract.
Mrs. E. M. Powers, dwelling, lot 12, Heil Subdivision of lot
56, Barnhart Tract.
Fred Bender, dwelling lot 9, block 5, Barnhart Tract.
Chas. J. Weber, garage, lot 21, block 3, Larson's Pine Street
Addition.
F. F. Irey, dwelling, lot 1. block 43, Ivory's Addition.
W. P. Lancaster, dwelling, lot 13, Lancaster Subdivision.
T. J. Thurmond, addition to dwelling, 404 East Elm street.
The Lodi Canning Company asked for additional sewer facili-
ties at their plant on Tokay street. Action was deferred to be taken
up at an adjourned meeting to be held Wednesday, February 19th.
W. H. Lorenz reported that property owners on North School
street had purchased 100 European Sycamore trees to be planted on
that street and requested the city to plant and care for the same..
The matter was placed in the hands of the Street Superintendent and
City E eineer and T. H. Lorenz was requested to assist.
S. W. Hopkins requested the Board to order sidewalks laid in
front of several properties on South Sacramento street. The Board in-
structed Superintendent of Streets to serve notice on owners of said
properties to proceed with the work within thirty days.
The City Clerk's report for the quarter ending December 31st,
1918, was read and ordered filed.
Petitions of property owners were presented and filed asking
for the improvement of the following streets and alleys: Alley run-
ning from School to Church, between Pine and Oak; Sacramento street
from South line of Lockeford Street to North City Limits; East Lodi
Avenue from West line of South Sacramento street to Cherokee Lane.
The following resolution was introduced and adopted by unani-
mous vote of the Board:
RESOLUTION.
RESOLVED, That the City Engineer be, and he is hereby, di-
rected to prepare plans and specifications for the following im-
provement, to -wit:
1. For the grading and paving of, and the construction of
curbs and gutters on Lee Avenue, from the Northerly line of Lodi
Avenue to the Southerly line of Locust street.
2. For the grading and paving of, and the construction of
curbs and gutters on Locust street from the easterly line of Batch -
ins street to the westerly line of Cherokee Lane.
3. For the grading and paving of the alley running east and
west through the block bounded by Lee Avenue, Pine, Elm and Eutchins
streets.
ORDINANCE NO. 105 ,
An ordinance establishing the grades and curb lines on certain
streets in the City of Lodi, in accordance with the provisions of
Resolution of Intention No. 17, was introduced and laid or. the table
for not less than five days.
Upon motion the President of the Board was authorized to exe-
cute the annual transformer contract with General Electric Company.
Uiscellaneous bill amour:ting to $708.41, having been audited by
the Finama Committee, were allowed and ordered paid.
Upon motion of Trustee Keeney, seconded by Trustee Crose, the
Board adjourned to meet again at 7.30 p.m., Wednesday, February
19, 1919.

Pursuant to adjournment of February 17th the Board of Trus- -
tees convened at 8 o'olocic p.m., there being present Trustees
Black, Hale, Keeney and Erose. Trustee-ontgomery.absent.
Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved.
Representatives of the Lodi Canning Company were present -and
the matter of additional sewer facilities for the southern part of
the. City were taken up. Verbal reports were received from superin-
tendent Henning and City Engineer Barzellotti as to the feasibility
of different plans of taking care of the additional sewage of the
car -cry. Superintendent Henning reported that having carried 4500
gallons of water per hour in a test, in his opinion the present
sewers could be made to serve for some time to come, and upon mo-
tion of Trustee Keeney, seconded by Trustee Hale, action.was deferred
until further testa could be made.
