The Board of Trustees of the City of Lodi convened in regular
session at 8 o'clock p.m., there being present Trustees Black, Keeney,
Cro3e and Montgomery. Trustee Hale absent.
.Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved.
A communication was received from Lodi Canning Company asking,
for street lights at the Tokay street crossing of the Southern Pacific
tracks. The matter was referred to Superintendent Henning.
• A petition signed by about sixty residents of the Barnhart Tract
asking that the Pentacostal Mission or "Holy Rollers" church be re—
quired to close their services not later than 10 o'clock, alleging that
the noise disturbs the neighborhood, was read and ordered filed. The:
Matter was referred to Trustee Crose.
A petition signed by property owners representing a frontage of
2081 feet of property on Lee Avenue protesting against the paving of
that thoroughfare at this time was read and ordered filed.
Reports of City Plumbing Inspector and City Marshal for the
month of .Ttly were read and ordered filed.
J. J. Schmeidt applied to the Baord for a resident auctioneer's
license, which was granted.
The Lodi Investment Company's application for permission to in—
stall a 1500 -gallon fuel oil tarlc in rear of the new theater building
on South School street was granted.
OrD I l A NCE NO. 103,
"An Ordinance Amending Subdivision Hire of Section Fourteen of Ordin—
ance NUmber Eighty—Two, Providing for a license tax on Dogs," was in—
troduced, given first reading and on motion was laid on the table for
not less than five days.
The following building permits were granted:
P. A. Cornwell, private stable at 213 Flora street.
J. C. Keller, private garage at 407 beat Oak street.
. Miscellaneous claims against the City amounting to 35642.98,
having been passed by the auditing committee, were allowed and or—
dered paid.
