In regular session of the Board of Trustees of the City of
Lodi held this date there were present Trustees Hale, Black, Keeney,
Montgomery and Crose.
Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved.
In the matter of the application of Stella N. Fowler for a
spur tract the following resolution vras introduced:
RESOLJTION FOR FINAL PASSAGE AND APPROVAL OF ORDINANCE NO. 99.
RESOLVED: That it appearing to the satisfaction of this, the
Board of Trustees of the City of Lodi, County of San Joaquin, State of
California, by the affidavit of F. P. Roper, the principal clerk of
the printer and publisher of The Lodi Sentinel, that Ordinance No. 99
has been Trinted:.and .published in -The' Lodi Sentinel which 1s a news
paper of general circulation, printed and published,tri—weekly, in
the City of Lodi, County of San Joaquin, State of California, for one
time, and in the manner required by law, in accordance with the reso—
lution of this, the Board of Trustees of the City of Lodi, which said
Resolution was duly passed and adopted at a due and regular meeting
of this -Board of Trustees, held on the 3d day of June, 1918;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED; That this, -the Board of Trustees of
the City of Lodi, County of San Joaquin, State of California, does
find, and it is hereby found as a fact, that Ordinance No. 99 has
been published for the time, and in the manner required by law;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That said Ordinance No. 99 having been
finally passed by this , the Board of Trustees of the said City of
Lodi, be, and the same hereby is, finally passed and approved by this,
the Board of Trustees of the City of Lodi, and the President of this
Board of Trustees be, and he hereby is, ordered and directed to ap—
prove the same.
Dated the 17th day of June, 1918.
Upon motion of Trustee Hale, seconded by Trustee Montgomery,
the foregoing resolution was adopted by the following vote:
Ayes; Trustees Black, Hale, Keeney, Montgomery and Crose.
Noes: None.
Absent: None.

Upon motion of.Trustee Grose, seconded by Trustee Montgomery, the
monthly pkv of James Marlow, city Scavenger, was increased from 06o to
$75.00, effective June 1st, 1918.
Upon notion of Trustee -Montgomery, seconded by Trustee Rale, the
monthly pay of Officer T. H. Payers was increased from $$90.00 to tl00.00,
effective June 1, 1913.
The folloxIng building permits were granted:
0. D. Seacrist, addition to dwelling at 720 South Stockton St.,
Barnhart Tract.
T. H. Peppers, to remodel and build addition to fruit shed at
corner of Walnut and ;lain streets.
Haslam & Hanson were granted permit to tear down and remove a
barn from lots 3 and 4, block 2, City of Lodi.
J. E. Bishop was granted permit to tear down and remove a tants
'louse from the north a of lots 3 and 4, block 8, City of Lodi.
W. H. Thompson, George LeFebre and L. S. Channell, of the Lib—
rary Board, reported a deficit in the library fund and requested the
j Board to :Hake an allowance of 075.00 per month for one year from the
general fund of the city treasury for the purpose of buying books, etc.,
In order to keep the library up to standard. The matter was referred
to a committee of the whole.
RESOLUTION APPROJIVG SUBDIVISI0N OF PART OF LOT 56, BArILT ART
TRACT AND ACCEPTING SPACE DEDICATED FOR USE
AS PUBLIC STREET.
wHEREAS, E. C. Heil and his wife, Emma. Hell, owners of part of
Lot 55, Barnhart Tract, rave subdivided such property into building
lots and offer to dedicate part of the land as public property for
street purposes as shown on the map herewith presented; and
'REAS, such subdivision conforms to the lines of adjoining
subdivisions and its acceptance together with the acceptance of the
space intended for public use has been recommended by the City Engin—
enr; be LSOIXED, That the subdivision of part of lot 56, Lodi Barn—
hart Tract, as presented by its owners, be approved and the space
dedicated for public use be accepted and is hereby accepted.
Upon motion of Trustee Keeney, seconded by Trustee ?sale, the
fore going resolution was adopted by the following vote:
Ayes: Trustees ?sale, Black, Keeney, Montgomery and Crose.
Noes: None.
Absent: None.
Annual reports of the Chief and Secretary of the Fire Depart—
ment were read and ordered filed.
Upon motion of Trustee Keeney, seconded by Trustee Montgomery,
the election of the following officers of the fire department were ap—
proved and confirmed:
President, G. A. Gerlach; Vice President, L. R. Rinn; Chief,
E. H. Stark; let Assistant Chief, A. L. Dutschke; 2d Assistant Chief,
J. Sanouinnetti; Secretary, Wn. A. Faust; Treasure r, H.E.Welch. Fire
Marshals, A. T. Thomas and W. H. Faust.
Trustee Hale moved, seconded by Trustee Crose, that the pro—
posed new schedule of pay for firemen, as suggested- by the fire depart—
mant officials June 3d, be hereby approved, to become effective July
lst, 1918, it being understood that the time of each drill shall con—
tinue for not less than one and one—half hours. The above motion was
adopted by the affirmative votes of all members of the Board.
Miscellaneous bills against the City amounting to 4785.*9 were
allowed and ordered paid.
Upon motion regularly made, seconded and carried, the Board
adjournQd to meet again ifonday, June 24th, 1918, at �8 oock p. M.
