The Board of Trustees of the City of Lodi convened pursuant to
adjournment of March 4th at 8 o'clock p.:. There were present Trustees
Rale, Black, Keeney arid Deaver. Trustee =olendorf absent.
Minutes Of the previous meeting were read and approved.
In response to call for bids of 'February 23d for furnishing
pumps and ;rotors proposals were received from the following: C. P.
Baird, General Electric Company, Wagner Electric Mfg Co., ? Ritz, Pel-
ton :Nater heel Co., Byron .ac kson Company, , 'nocck Bros., California
Building Material Company, Fairbanks -Morse Co., and the Sterling Iron
Works.
Upon motion -of Trustee? Black, seconded by Trustee Keeney, all
bids for pumps and motors were taken under advisement for not more
than ten'days.
Trustee Keeney moved, seconded by Trustee Black, that aii bids
for furnishing pumps be rejected and the Board proceed to purchase in
the open market, which motion was carried.
In the :Latter of the application of Southern Pacific Company
for an order authorizing the extension of a siding at grade across
Tokay street,in the City of Lodi, copy of Decision No. 5187 of the
Railroad Commission was received and ordered filed.
The Central Pacific Railway Company having on 7.tarch 9, 1918,
filed its acceptance of Ordinance ::o. 94, the following resolution was
Introduced by Trustee Keeney:
RESOLVED, THAT WHEREAS, heretofore, and on the llth day of
February, 191d, Ordinance No. 94 was finally passed and approved by
this, the Board of Trustees of the City of Lodi, and by 7. 0. Hale,
President of said Board of Trustees, and as the Executive of said City
of Lodi; and

acceptance o1' the aforesaid Ordinance in accordance with the provisions
thereof with t:;13, the Board of Trustees of the City Of Lodi;

found as a fact, and established Of reword, that the written accept-
ar_Ce of said Crdina*_ce by the said Central Pacific Railway Company
has been made and had. within due time, and the same i3 hereby estab-
liahed of record.
Upon motion Of Trustee Deaver, seconded by Trustee Black., the
foregoing resolution was adopted by the following vote:

RESOLVED, That the President of the Board of Trustees and the
City Clark of the City of Lodi, be, and they are hereby, authorized
and directed to give notice, according to law, of a General '=unicipal
Election to be held in and for said City of Lodi on 'londay, the Eighth
day of April, 1918.
That for the purpose of said election Lodi No. 1 Precirct an:
Lodi Yo. 5 Precinct shall be and constitute Consolidated Election Pre-
cinct ::c. 1
That Lodi No. 2 Precinct and Lodi No-. 3 Precinct shall be and

Upon motion of Trustee Keeney, seconded 'by Trustee Black, the
foregoing resolution was adopted by the follonring vote.

Black, moved its adoption as amended. The motion carried by the fol1oW-

Labor, salary and other claims against the City amo:;nting to
