In regular session of the Board of Trustees of the City of Lodi
there were present Trustees Hale, Black and Deaver. Trustees Keeney and
rolendorf absent.
..:inutes of the previous meeting were read and approved.
The Japanese Association of L.A.W.was granted permit to con-
struct a private garage at 22e Nortt Cherokee Street.
Reports of the Plumbing Inspector for the months of January and
February were read and ordered filed.
The City Marshal's report for the month of Pebryars was read and
ordered filed.
T. 3. Mills of the Califorrlia Fruit Exchange asked permission
of the Board of Trustees to continue to use a portion of the sidewalk
space at its fruit shed on.Lockeford Street for a loading platftr:^.
Trustee Deaver moved, s..corded by Trustee ?lack, that the Cali-
fornia Fruit Exchange be p rr!it.ted to erect a loading platforms on the
south side of Lockeford street occupying a portion of the sidewalk space,
said platform to be maintained only at the pleasure of the Board of Trus-
tees, such permission to be revocable at any time upon notice from the
Board. The motion was adopted by the affirmative votes of all members
• present.
P. B.:Nunn offered to act as Pound?raster at a stated salary of
35.00 per month. No action was taken.
's. H .Lorenz reported t_at it was desired to _ave and light
Lee Avenue froir Locust street to Oak street and stated that a petition
of property owners on that street would be presented to the Board in
the near future.
Cutts protested against the Dur -ping of water from the new
city well into the street in front of his Place of business. No action
was taken, cr. Cutts being informed that pumping would be continued only
a few more days.
RESOLUTION ORD_RI`G THE WORK.
RESOLVED, that whereas the Board of Trustees of the City of Lodi,
did or. the llth day of February, A. D. 1918, pass its Resolution of In-
tention Yo. 16 to order the hereinafter described work to be done and
improvement to be made in said City, which Resolution of Intention was
duly and legally published as required by lass, as appears from the affi-
davit of publication_ in The Lodi Sentinel made by P. P. Roper, now on
file in the office of the City Clerk of Said City of Lodi; and whereas,
.notices cf the passage of said Resolution of Intention_, No. 16 'headed -
u otice cf Improvement" were duly and legally posted along the line of
said contemplated work and improvement and in front of all the property
liable to be assessed therefor, and on each and every street and high -
ray in the assessment district described in said resolution of inten-
tion, in time, for;:, ,arm er and number as required by law, after the
passage of said Resolution of Intention, as appears from the affidavit
of H. 3. DOLE A`7 who personally posted the same, and who, upon the com-
pletion of the posting of said notices, filed said affidavit in the of-
fice of said City Clef4, ::.eking oath that he completed the Posting of
said notices on the 16th day of February, y1918; and whereas, no protests
or ob,;ectior_s in writing or otherwise to the proposed work, or against
the extent cf the proposed district, have beer. delivered to, or pre-
sented to, or filed with the Clerk ofthis Board of Trustee of said Cit;.'
of Lodi, up to the hour set for hearing protests as et forth in said

(5) By grading the said alley running through the center of
Block Fourteen (14) from the Pest line of North Sacramento Street to the
East lire of north School Street, between the property lines;
(6) By 'Paving the above described alley, betw?an the. property
lines ;,•ith a pavement consistir_g of one inch of Sheet Asphalt wearing
surface, laid On a hydraulic concrete base four (4) inches In t_ickness.
Excepting, however, fror.”, all of the aforedescribed work, such
portion. as is required by law to be kept in order or repair by any per—
son or ccr..rar;T having railroad tracks thereon.
All of said work shall be dome in accordance with'tnn plans and
specifications heretofore adopted for doing said work and now on file in
the office of the City Clerk, and where certain work proposed to be don -7
or. the respective streets, avenues and highways, aforernentioned is de—
scribed as being between certain lines, it includes the doing of all
such work upon the street intersections and terminations between_ such
lines, unless OthprwiSe shown On the plans; providing, howevP.r, that aZ1V
duplication in such description shall be ignored.
And, whereas, said cont?mplated work and Improvement, in the
O iaa :ion of t Board of Trustees, is of more than local or ordinary
public benefit, said Board herPjy makes the i -pence of said work or im—
provement chargeable upon a district, which district said Board 'hereby
declares to be the district benefited by said work and improvement, and
to be assessed to pari the costs and expenses thereof; rQhich said dis-
