In regular session of the Board of Trustees of the City of Lodi there were present Trustees Hale, Black, :Keeney, Deaver and Folerdorf. L'inutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. :red Bender was granted permit to construct a dwelling on lot 8, block 5, Barnhart Tract. Wm. Inch addressed the Board in the interests of the Smilage Boos campaign now being prosecuted by the Military Entertainment Cor- mittee and asked the Board to contribute funds to the cause. The mat- ter was taken under advisement as to the legal right of the Board to appropriate honey for the purpose. A. S. Anderson representing the Auto Trades Association of Lodi called attention of the Board to the fact that many machines are parked on the streets all night and inquired if the city ordinances did not prohibit such parking. The matter was referred to the City Attorney. S. Sovereign and F. J. Beaty reported that there was dissatis- faction as to the placing of electroliers on East Lodi Avenue from Central Avenue to the Southern Pacific railroad and requested the Board of Trustees to take some action to adjust the matter. The com- plainants were assured the matter would receive consideration. M. Hirasuna was granted permission to move his gasoline serv- ing station from No. 24 North Main street to No. 34 North Main street. A letter from the Riverside Swimming Club of Sacramento pro- posed that the Lodi Sw1oa1rg club participate in swimming meets with their club June 16th and Jure 30th.. The Clerk was instructed to reply stating that Lodi at present has no swingeing club: The following resolution introduced February 11th and laid on the table, was given second reading and adopted: RESOLUTION TO PURCHASE LAND FOR OPENING LEE AND PLEASANT AVENUES. Trustee Folendorf moved, seconded by Trustee Black, thm adopt— ion of the resolution as read, which -motion was carried by the follow— ing ,Tot?' Upon motion of Trustee Folendorf, seconded by Trustee Keeney, the City Clerk was authorized to advertise for bids for furnishing one six—inch and one eight—ir_ch centrifugal pump, direct connect -ad to suitable rotor, for use at the new wells at the water works.
