Monday, November 5-1923
The regular meeting of the Board of Trustees of the City
of Lodi for the first Monday in November was called to order at
8 o'clock P.M. on the date and at the place first above written
Trustees, Hale, Hickok, Mettler, Spooner and Shattuck present,
the• latter presiding.
- The minutes of the adjourned regular meeting of October
8th and the regular meeting of October 15th, 1923 were read
and a: proved,
J. G. Schneidt asked that the Board order installation of
all sidewalks where 'streets on each side of a black were imp-
roved and that the sectors left by the extensions of the walks
across the intersecting sidewalk spaces to the curb be filled
solid with concrete; also that owners be forced to concrete
garage runs where curb had been dropped for their benefit. No
action taken;
This being the date set by notices duly posted and pub-

lished for the reception of protests eminst the issuance of
Street Improvement Bonds in the matter of the improvement of
Hutchins4 alnut Streets and Stockton Avenue, Resolutions of
Intention No's 61 and 62 respectively, and the Clerk reporting
no protests; the Board proceeded to authorize the issue and
to describe the bonds by the passage of Resolutions as fol-
lows: -
Resolution No. 428, "An Crder Providing for the Issuance
of Street Improvement Bonds, Prescribing the Denominations of
Such Bonds and of the Interest Coupons Attached Thereto" by the
following vote: -
AYES: Trustees Lettler,Hickok,Hale,Spooner,Shattuck;

Resolution No. 429, "An Order Providing for the Issuance
'of Street Improvement Bonds, Prescribing the Denominations of
Such Bonds and of the Interest Coupons Attached Thereto" by the

been regularly introduced at the regular meeting of October,15th,
was introduced for passage on motion of Trustee Hickok, second-
ed by Trustee Mettler and regularly passed, adopted and ordered
to print by the following vote:
AYES: Trustees, Hickok,�ettler,Spooner,Hale,Shattuck,
NOES: Trustees, Prone, ABSENT: Trustees, None. -
Said ordinance Was thereupon signed by the President
of the Board of Trustees.
The insurance on the Iunicipal Baths Building expir-
ing on•the 15th of November, renewal of the policies was not auth-
orized, the Board deciding to place the insurance with companies
represented by J. S. Montgomery in the amount of $2,000 and Ted
A. Hinzman in the same amount. The Clerk was so instructed.
The monthly rental of the house acquired from H.E;welch
situated at 223W. ?ine Street was fixed at $30.00 per month pay-
able in advance; the wages -of %I.E,Cole, night engineer at the Sew-
age Disposal plant was fixed at $125,00 per month, no raise in
,-rages^-to be considered until after six months satisfactory service.
On motion of Tr,hstee Spooner, the Clerk was direct-
ed to advertise for sealed bids for moving the duelling at 420
i�Daisy Avenue to its permanent location as the se -„rage faxen; the
h --use to be placed ready to drop on foun:ations to be prepared
later by the City,
Bills amounting to $16,556,55 were allowed and ordered
paid on motion of Trustee �Speoner, seconded.by Trustee Mettler;
Twelve building permits agggregating $10,725 were granted.

the "Improvement Bond Act of 19115^, and --mend-meats thereto, and to the

The total or aggregate amount of said assessments unpaid is
the sums of 1,117,294.87.
AHD WHEREAS. said Resolution of Intention, the Resolution
Ordering said Work to be done. the Resolution of Award,of the Contract
to said Contractor. and all other notices of said proceedings required
to be printed, published or posted. or printed and published and posted.
and also the Warrant issued by the Superintendent of Streets to the Con-
tractor contained a declaration as follotias: - "Notice is hereby given
that serial bonds to represent unpaid assessments and bear interest at
the rate of seven per cent per annum will be issued hereunder in the
manner provided by the "Improvement Bond Act of 1915", the last install-
ment of which bonds shall mature nine years from the second dap of ,July
neat succeeding nine months from their date".
NOW THEREFORE, in consideration of the foregoing premises.,
the Board of Trustees of the City of Lodi, does order as follows;
SECTION 1. - That bonds shall be issued upon the security of
the unpaid assessments to the amount of $17,294.80. in accordance with
the provisions of the "Improvement Bond Act of 1915". and ander and pur-
suant to the resolutions. notices and proceedings of said Board duly
adopted and taken. Said bonds shall be called "Improvement Bonds"
shall be Thirty (30) in number, shall be dated November 5th. 1923, and
bear interest at the rate of seven per cent per annum from the 25th day
of October, 1923. payable January tad and July 2nd of each year. and the

SE MON 2. - Said bonds shall be issued in series, and the
unpaid assessments as shown on said list filed by the Superintendent of
Streets wad. determined by the Board of Trustees. together with interest
thereon, shall remain and constitute a hast fund for the redemption and
payment of said bonds and of the interest which may be due thereon, which
unpaid assessments shell be payable in annual series corresponding in
number to the number of series of bonds issued, and an even anal pro-
portion of each assessment shall be payable in each year preceding the
date of the maturity. of each of the several series of bonds issued, and
such annual, proportion of each assessment coming doe in an1y year, together
with the annual interest thereon, shall in turn be payable in installments
as the general municipal taxes of said City on real property are payable,
and shall become delinquent at the as times and in the same proportionate
amounts and bear the same proportionate penalties and interest for delin-
ga$ney.
Said bonds shell be signed by the Treasurer of said City and

countersigned by the Merle, vho shall affix thereto the official seal of
said City; and the interest coupons attached thereto shall be siezed b.. -
the Treasurer or bear his engraved or lithographed signature; and such
signing and sealing of said bones b7 said officers and signing of said
coupons by said Treasurer shall constitute and be sufficient and binding
execution of each and every one of said bonds and all of the coupons
