HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes - August 6, 192311 City Hall, City of Lodi Monday, August 6th.,1923 The regular meeting of the Board of Trustees of the City of Lodi vas called to order at 8 o'clock P.M. by Pres- ident J.W.Shattuck on the above date; Trustees Ha1e,Hickok, Mettler and Shattuck present; Trustee Spooner absent. The minutes of the adjourned meeting of July 23rd were read and approved. W.H.Thompson of the Board,of Library Trustees present- ed an estimate of expenses for the coming year. J.S.Lontgomery of a committee from the Lodi District Chamber of Commerce, asked that the Board set aside the sum of approximately $2,000 for promotion purposes. Monthly reports of the Poundmaster,City Marshal and Fire Chief were read and ordered files as were the Quarterly Reports of the Clerk & Treasurer. The application of R.M.C'rannell for leave of absence was granted but without pay. It appearing that there was a deficiency in the Street Assessment,Bond due.to delinquent assessments for 1922, the Treasurer was instructed to transfer the amount of $740.67 to the said fund from the General ?and on warrant by the passage of Resolution No. 410 AYES: Trustees, Mettler,Hickok,Hale,Shattuck. NOES: Trustees, None ABSENT: Trustee, Spooner. Assessment diagrams for the districts to be assessed for the improvement provided for in Resolutions of Intention No.61 (Rutchins-Walnut) and 62 (Stockton Avenue) were app- roved separately by the passage of Resolutions No. 411 and 412 respectively, by the following vote:- ~� AYES: NO2S: Trustees, Hickok,Mettler.,Shattuck,Hale Trustees, None. A3S TT: Trustees, None. A petition for the opening and paving of Harold St. from Cantrell Avenue to Garfield Street was read and ordered filed. The report of the City Engineer as to the sufficiency of the petitions on Central, Garfield and Maple Streets was read, showing en excess of signed fromtage on all streets and the same referred to committee of the whole. 12 PThe recommendation of the City Planning Commission that a certain plot for the sub -division of lots 6 and 7 of the Lodi Barnhart Tract be approved was referred back to the Commission as the proposed street lines apparently intefered with future subdivisions in the same tract. The proposed contract with the western States Gas and E1- ectric Company providing for current delivery at the sewage disposal plant was laid over for two weeks. On motion of Trustee Mettler, the President was directedt to execute meter and transformer contracts with the General Electric Company. The proposition for purchase of field.equipment in the Northern and Southern Additions submitted by the 57.S.G & E. Company to the Superintendent of Public Utilities was laid over indefinitely. j The Easterly 20 feet of a piece of land west of and adj- acent to Lots 44, 45 and 46, Schroeder Tract was formally ded- icated for public use as an alley by the passage of Resolution No. 413 by the following vote: - AYES: Trustees, Hal e,Hickok,blettler,Shattuck. NOES: Trustees, None A3SMIT: Trustee Spooner. On motion of Trustee Hickok, seconded by Trustee Mettler. ten building permits aggregating $24,250.00 were ordered grant- ed. Hills amounting to $26,635.37 having been approved by the finance committee, were ordered paid on mojiion of Trustee Mettler President J.w.Shattuck stated that he would be absent from the City for about two weeks and on motion of Trustee Mettler, Trustee Hale was chosen President pro -tem. On motion of Trustee Hickok, the Board adjourned until 8.o'clock P.M. of Monday, August 13th.,1923. . Attest: / City Clerk. ' I. 2.0.HALE.
