•Purs:aat to adjournment from the rear meeting of
July 16th,1923, the Board of Trustees of the City of Lodi met
in adjourned regular session at 8 o'clock P M. on the date'
first above written, J.W.Shattuck presiding, Trustees Hale,
Hickok, Mettler, Spooner and Shattuck present.
The minutes of the regular meeting of July 16th were
approved without correction.
Lr Ludwig Helwig, having fileda petition aTainst
in-'
thepaving of Garfield Street, appeared support of the same;
the lerk read the petition and also a communication from the
City Planning Commission in the natter as follows: -
To the Honorable Board of Trustees, City of Lodi
Gentlemen: -
The City Planning Commission at its meeting held on
July 18th adopted the following recomnendations:-
First:- That in the contemplated improvement of Gar-
field Street the regular width of the roadway be maintained ac-
cording to ordinance, regardless of existing trees;
Second: That the portion of Garfield Street which -
extends South of TokayStreet to Vivo Street be widened to con-
form with the width othe same street north of Tokay Street;

No action in the above taken at this time.
Petitions for the improvement of the following streets
having been filed with the Clerk, the same were presented to the
Board and on motion of Trustee Spooner, seconded by Trustee
Hickok, referred to the Engineer for checking.
Central Avenue, south to Vine Street;
•Maple Street, throughout its entire length;
Garfield Street from R.R:Avenue to the south city lituit
Foster & Kleiser applied for'permission to erect a
signboard opposite the Postoifice on W; Oak Street; On motion
of -Trustee Bale, permit denied.
This being the date set for reception of bids for chlor-
ination apparatus for the seviege disposal plant; the Board open-
ed and declared the bids received; but one received, that of
Wallace & Tiernan Co: Inc: and award ,.as made to that company by
the passage of Resolution of Award No; 409 by the following vote:
AYES: .Hickok, Haale,Mettler Spooner,Shattuck;
NOES: None. Absent; None:
On motion of Trustee Hickok, the City Attorney was ins-
tructed to notify the owner of the premises occupied by the
Goodfellows Grill that the upper front of the building constit-
uted a menace to passing pedestrians.
The report of the coixiittee. of the whole inT regard to
the granting of building.termit No.151 being adverse, on motion
of Trustee Nattier, permit was denied.. •
On motion of Trustee Spooner, the board adjourned.
