Monday, September 25,1922.
Pursuant to adjournment taken from the regular meeting of
September 18th, the Board of trustees of the City of Lodi met in
adjourned regular session at 8 o'clock P.M. All members present.
On motion of Trustee Hale, the regular order of business
was suspended and the Board proceeded to publicly open and declare
the proposals submitted for the construction of storm drains and
sanitary se^'e=s as authorized .zugust 28th,
Proposals in proper form were received from Ed. Spiekerman,
_Page, J.N.iirestich, Jules Perrin, A. R. McCarty, Fredrickson
Bros., W. H. Graham d: Co., Gladding,McBean & Co. and ti•estern Con-
crete Pipe Company.
On account of the involved nature of the proposals submit-
ted and doubt as to the serviceability of concrete sanitary sewer
lines, the matter cf award was laid over until 8 P.M. of September
26th.
At the request of C. L. Boynton, the Clerk brought up the
matter of the proper drainage of the roadway of Chestnut Street.
The'Superintendent of Streets was instructed to fill to grade under
direction of the City Engineer.
Dr. C. V.Thotmson appeared before the Board in regard to
applying the Schick test for susceptibility to diphtheria to chil-
dren in the public schools at the expense of the City, stating that
the estimated cost for serum would be about 60% per pupil, with an
additional cost of :1.50 for administration of toxin --antitoxin on
each child giving positive reaction. About 1700 children would be
tested. Dr. Thompson was directed to obtain further information
and report to the Board on the 26th.
Building permits were allowed. Application of A. Moyukis
for license to conduct a card -room was denied.
The assessment diagram for Rose Street was approved by the
passage of Resolution No. 323 by the following vote: ":>`
AYES: Hale, Spooner, Hickok, Mettler, Shattuck.
NOES: None ABSENT: None

The assessment diagram for the Cordier Street inorove_-.ent
district was approved by the passage o: Resolution No. 324 by the
iollov,ing vote:
AYES:ettler, 1 ickok, Spooner, hale, Shattuck.
NOES: None ABSENT: 'None .
the President of the Board appointed Trustees :Settler and
Spooner as a co?:�ittee to interview and arrive at a settlement ^:ith
0. J. Henmhill in regard to the widening of Ldcke_`ord Street between
ChurchStreet and Pleasant Avenue.
On notion of 'irustee 'dettler, the Board adjourned to 8 o'clock
P.M. on September 26, 1922.
