Monday, July 10th, 1922.
Pursuant to adjournment taken from the regw;lar meeting of July 3,
1922, the Board. of Trustees of the City of Lodi. met in adjourned re-
gular session at 8 o'clock P.1,1. on the date first 900r'e written.
Trustees Hale, Hickok. Mettler md Shattuck were present.
The minutes of tne regular meeting of July 3d. :were read and approv-
ed.
Departing. from the re alar order of business, the President took
up the matter of the appoi.ntmeiof a successor to '...r. C. A. Rich, who
resigned as Trustee on July 3, 1922. Trustee F. 0. Hale, seconded by
Trustee A. 72. Hickok, moved the adoption of Resolution No. 297, a re-
solution appointing Mr. W. A. Spooner, a Trustee of the City of Lodi.
The resolution was passed end adopted by unanimous vote of the Board,
to -wit: AYES: Trustees Hale, Rickok, Mettler, Shattuck, none dissent -
in e and none absent.
Lir. S'.pooner'oeirr? Present, accepted the appointment and was admin-
istered the prescribed oath of office by the Clerk. He then took his
seat among the members of the Board..
Public Hearings and Protests.
'r. J. H. ',Ater addressed the Board stating that he represented
owners of business property on Central iivenue ;to desired street light-
ing standards to be placed at intervals of seventy-five feet along
Central. Avenue and in pairs instead of being staggered.as outlets are
now being installed. Trustee T 0. Hale and Supt. J. A. Henning stated
that the staggered system with four lights to a block would give suf-
ficient illumination, and if such should prove not to be the case,
larger lights could be installed, end if necessary, more standards in-
stalled. later.
?:sr. R. E. Mixer, representing the Civic Committee of the Lions
Club, asked as to the progress of the Board toward the enactment of a
building ordinance. President J.77. Shattuck advised ii_r. Mixer that
he had the draft of an ordinance prepared and that the same would be
submitted to the Board at their next meting.
Communications and Reports.
The report of the City Pluhbing Inspector was read. and ordered.

spector, ordered filed..
Unfinished Bus in ess.
The 3oard discussed the nuisance of inflammable weeds and grass
on vacant lots as the expense end danger to the City justified the
taking of radical steps to clean uo the lots. The Marshal was instruct-
ed to serve notice on lot oners and if same was disregarded, take
legal action.
Delivery of. the Bonds issued. to represent the unpaid assessments
on Pleasant Avenue was authorized by the passage of Resolution No.298
a^arding the same to the contractor, no bids 'raving been presented.

Ordinance No. 13, an ordinance governing the parking of auto-
mobiles was. again discussed, but owing to certain ohanges noir taking
place on Sacramento Street, fizther action was postponed.
The application of ?red Lind. for water service was denied.
New Business.
L. T 3arzellatti, Secretary ofthe City tilnning `'omnission

ing been presented the commission for endorsement of their approval
and submission to the 'Board of Trustees for adoption.
The City 21 -arming Commission advised that the :rap be not adopted
as the block delineated therein were not divided by streets at suit-
able intervals mering the extension of fire protection difficult and
entailing probable future expense on the City when the district became
thickly populated eni more cross streets necessary. Acting on the
recommendation of the Commission, Trustee Mettler,seconded by Trustee
Hale, moved that the Tap be not adapted. ;.lotion carried and so order-
ed.
The Associated Oil `'onpeny was allowed to install four five -hundred
gallon gasoline tanks at the side of their new station, Pine and Sac-
ramanto Streets.
Hansel & Ortman were a lowed to move a sa=y? 1 , te-oras � salos
office bulldinz from S. Sacramento Street to the South -hast corner
of Locust and Sacramento Streets.

President J. :;. Shattuck outlined a system for recording pur-
