CITY HALL - CITY OF LODI.
Monday,Mareh 13-1922.
The adjourned regular meeting of the Board of Trustees of
the City of Lodi was called to order at 8 o'clock P.M. on the
day and date above written and on call of the roll, Trustees Crose,
Hale, Hickok and -Montgomery were present; Trustee Rich absent.
The minutes of the regular meeting of :.;arch 6th. were read
and a^proved.
Election precincts were established, polling places located
and election officers named for the coming municial election
to be held April 10th by the passage of Resolution No.233 :-
AYES: TRUSTEES, Hale, Hickok, Crose, .Montgomery.
NOES: TRUSTEES, one ASSENT: Trustees, Rich.
Communications from the following were received and action
taken in each instance as follows:
Seagrave Company: Notice of completion of work on old
fire truck and informing the Board that more attention should
be given this machine: Referred to Trustee Hale.
California Auto Asscn. regarding extra work on signs and
enclosing rebate check of 430.00: Ordered filed.
Report of the Plumbing Inspector for r'ebruary received and
ordered filed.
A petition asking that the district bounded on the North
by the South City Limits, on the East by Cherokee Lane, on the
South by the North line of Poplar Street and on the deet by the
::ast line of School Street be -annexed -to the City under the
name of "SOUTHERN ADDITION TO LODI" was received, read and the
Clerk ordered to verify the signatures affixed in preparation
for a special election to be called under the "Act of 1913"
Rolla J. Custer and George A. Beagle appeared on behalf
of the Lodi School Board and asked that the .+est 200:feet of the
alley running East and aest through Lot 12 of the Lodi Barnhart
Tract be abandoned as the City Schools -have acquired title to
this property. The matter was ordered to take its usual course.
At the suggestion of Er. Caster the Board decided to sub-
mit to the electors at the next general election, the question
of whether an election should be called for the election of a
Board of Freeholders to frame a new charter by the passage of
Resolution No. 234:
RESOLUTION NO. 234.
Resolved by the Board of Trustees of the City of Lodi
that the following stated proposition be placed upon the ballot
at the next general election: to -wit,
"Shall the Board of Trustees of the City of Lodi call
a special election for the purpose of electing a Board of Free-
holders to frame a new charter for this City"
The above resolution was pased and adopted by the
following vote:
AYES: Trustees, Hickok, Crose, Hale, Montgomery.
NOES: Trustees, None. ABSENT: Trustee, Rich.

Resolution No. 231, describing the bonds to be issued to ' 3
cover the amounts of the unpaid assessments on Church Street:

R:solution No. 232 dedicating the south 40 feet of lot 28
in Lesson's Addition for street purposes and making the same to
be a part of Tokay Street:

Resolution of Intention No. 45 in the matter of the improve-
ment-of Toaay Street:
AYES: Trustees, Hale, Grose, Hickok, Montgomery.
ROES: Trustees, None. ABSENT: Trustee, Rich.
Resolution of Intention No. 46 in the matter of the improve-
ment of Sacramento Street:
AYES: wale, Grose, Hickok, Montgomery.
NOES: None. ABSENT: Rich.
Superintendent Henning addressed the Board in the matter of
the necessity of widening Hutchins Street for the half -block
south of Lockeford Street and was instructed to obtain a price
on the lands necessary to bring this street to full width.
The Board realizing the benefits that would accrue from the
establishment of a county health department and labaratory,
instructed the Clerk to draw up and present a resolution in prep-
aration to uniting with San Joaquin County and the incorporated
cities of Tracy, Stockton and Manteca in the operation and main-
tenance of such a department.
Vine building permits a3gregating $6,250 were granted.
On motion of Trustee Hale, the Board adjourned until the
date and hour of the next regular meeting.
