The regular meeting of the Board of "erustees of the City of Lodi was called to order by the President at 8 o'clock P.M. and on call of the roll there ware present Trustees, Crose, :ale, Hickok and Iiontgomery; Trustee Rich absent. In the matter of the proposed construction of a tool shed and storage room on the City lot facing East Locust Street: in answer to published advertisement calling for proposals to furn- ish labor and material and to construct the same, the following bids were received: - Prank J. " 6" " " 1,600.00 " 8" Brick " 1,675.00 J:_1es r Alf.Perrin " (ex I Beam) 1,370.75 It appearing from the abovethat the bid of Jules and Alf- red Perrin was thebestbid offered, the contract was awarded to them, the City agreeing to furnish the I beam necessary A petition asking that ,+est Oak Street from the Best line of Hutchins Street to the Western City Limits be improved was presented and it appearing from certificate of the City Clerk that petitioners represented more than 50o of the owners, the City.Engineer was ordered to prepare the necessary plans and specifications. The Board of Health reported that the plant of the Sacra- mento Gas Company on South Sacramento Street, against which a protest had been filed, was in sanitary c:ndition as far as their inspection of the same -:could show and that they had no jurisdiction in the matter. City Engineer Barzellotti presented the assessment dia- grams for the assessment of Lockeford Street and Pleasant Ave- nue -districts: the diagram for Pleasant Avenue was approved and adopted by the passage of Resolution No. 221 by the votes of Trustees, Crose, = ickck, Hale and Montgomery, Trustee Rich being absent: the Locr:eford Street Diagram was'a-.proved and ad- opted by the passage of Resolution i;o.222 by the following vote: EYES: Trustees, _:ici:ol:, Crose, Hale, Lontgomery. 130ES: Trustees, lion. A3SF T: Trustee, Rich. Reports for the preceeding month from the City Marshal, Plumbing Inspector and Poundmaster were presented and ordered filed: the Fire Chief reported in the mater of.the board fences in the alley running i;orth & South thru Block -27, rec- ommending that the same be cut to four or five feet and all wire topping removed. His complaints were given full dis- cussion and remedies suggested by the Board as each vas presented. City Superintendent J. A. Henning suegested and :.as given authority to have the storm sewer trenches dug in ehe Barnhart Tract by day labor at the rate of 12r per foot in order to re- lieve,ir a measure, the present state of un -employment anong resident laborers. 7. Lancaster was granted permission to move an old building from lots 5 & 6 in :Bloc: 16 to a location in the Lancaster Aedition near 1.. Pleasant avenue; fifteen bmilding permits, tota=ling X56,925.00 were granted. Bills to the amount of c15,299.56 having been approved by a majority of the finance co:::mittee were ordered Paid.
