Monday September 19,1921.
The Regular Meeting of the Board of Trustees of the City of Lodi
for the third ,`Monday in September was called to order by the President
at 8 o'clock P.M. and on call of the roll there were present Trustees,
Montgomery, Crose, Eale, Hickok and Rich.
The mgnutes of the adjourned regular meeting of September 12th were
read and approved.
The Southern Pacific Company, the only property owner liable for
assessment in the matter of the improvement of Oak Street, having rep-
resented to the Board that they were advertising for bids to do the
work ordered on that street by private contract re$urnable on the 22nd
whereas the Board had set this day and hour as the time for continuing
\' with this improvement, Trustee Crose introduced Resolution No. 188,
postponing this matter to the next regular meeting, October 3rd,1921
and the same was passed by the following vote:
AYES: Trustees, Crose, Hickok, Hale, Eich, Montgomery.
NOES: None.
ABSENT: " None.
This being the day and hour set in Resolution of Intention Lo.41 for
the hearing of protests against the improvement of. Lockeford Street, the
••`Clerk reported that no notices of protest had been presented up to and
' including the hour of 8 o'clock P.M. on this day. The Board then passed
Resolution No. 189, Resolution Ordering the Work by the following vote;
AYES: Trustees, Hale, Rich, Crose, Hickok, Montgomery
NOES: Trustees, None.
ABSENT: Trustees, None.
A petition signed by C.S.Chamoers and others requesting the Board to
order installation of concrete sidewalks in the 400 block of E. walnut
Street was received and the Superintendent of Streets was instructed to
notify the un-sidewalked lot owners that if walks were not installed at
once, action would be begun to compel the improvement.The Superintend-
ent was also instructed to list all blocks in the city having 50% or
more walks installed and notify owners to lay walks.
The application of F.P.Harcourt was received for the position of truck
driver and caretaker of new fire apparatus. The same was ordered filed.
Its Chas. G Stewart appeared before the Board in protest against
the disturbance of his peace by the Pentecostal Church or "holy Rollers"
but the Board informed him that there was no action that they could take
to abate the same, it being his only remedy to have the same declared
a public nuisance and abated therefore by the county officials.
Five building permits amounting to $20,875 were granted. f�
Resolution No. 187, A Resolution Transferring $50,000 from the
Improvement Construction Fund to the General Fund was then introduced
and passed by the following vote: -
AYES: Trustees, Hale, Rich, Crose, Hickok, -IM;e3r, Iiontgomery.
NOES: Trustees, None. ABSENT : Trustees, None.
On motion of Trustee Rich bills to the amount of $5,092.73 were
ordered paid as audited.
On motion of Trustee Hickok, the -City Engineer was instructed to
advertise for bids for -the laying of storm sewers along Hutchins Street
to Lodi Avenue and thence Wiest to the Stockton and Mokelumne Canal.
No further business appaaring, t oard adjourned at 9 o'clock
