A co:munication was received from t2ia Secretary of the League
of California_u_nicipalities regarding a report on the success of
publically ocned viater and electric plants to be pikblished in the
Journal of the League. The :atter was referred to the Clerk and the
Superintendent of Public utilities with instruction that they prepare
an article giving this city's-3xparienoe in these lines.
Another letter from the same source announcing a special
meeting of the League at Sacramento on May 20th to discuss the acquire-
ment of the sources of hydro-elaotric power was discussed and the
City Attorney asked to represent this city at the meeting.
A petition for theextensioa of sewer service to the .rest
side of West Street and signed by the owners of property thereon was
answered by the assurance of the board that t'r_is service would be exten-
ded as soon as a faasable plan could be worked out.
On motion of Trustee Hickok, seconded by Trustee '.Rich, the
Superintendent of Water .7 rns eras authorized to -purchase 3500 feet of
d", 1500 feet of 5" and 1500 ft of 2" Universal Cast Iron Pipe

Hickok, Rich, Crose and L;antgomery-; Trustee Hale being absent.

as it appeared that this building would block the future extension of

? Irey protested against a water rate of $1.00 nor apart-
ment for apart=ent houses and .,ras assured that the board mould change
this rate in the near future.
On a.co::nt of the manner in which bids for the city printing
were submitted, the board rel4acted all bids on lotion of 'Trustee Rich
and the Clerk •.aas instructad to prepare new specifications and submit
them to the only two possible contestants so that they might furnish
neve estimates.

and offered the ser -rices of the city to help in the cleaning up of
rubbish. &c.
The City Superintendent :ras instructed to install the formsr
