Monday April 18th.,1921.
The Board of Trustees of The City Of Lodi met in regular
session at 8.00 o'clock P.M. and on call of the roll, there were
present Trustees, Montgomery, Crose, Hale, Hickok and Rich.
The minutes of the adjourned regular session of April 12,
1921 were read and approved.
This being the day,date and hour set forth in Resolution
of Intention ffo.50 for the hearing of protests against the Mork
or improvement described in that resolution, namely the improve-
ment of Seaton Avenue,e Southern Pacific Company and the
Southern Pacific Railroad Company, jointly, by written notice
and by verbal protest, appeared in objection to the proposed
improvement of this street for reasons set forth in a certain
communication signed on behalf of the protestants by :,.B.Leavitt
and now filed in the records of the proceedings in this matter
with the City Clerk, special reference to which letter or com-
munication_ of protest is here made for greater certainty.
At the order of the President of the Board, none objecting,
the matter of the above protest and the action to be taken in
regard thereto, was taken under advisement'and the advice of
the City Attorney sought, further proceedings to be taken up at
an adjourned meeting to be held on Apr. 25th.
A representative of the Federal Construction Company
addressed the board on the advisability of making larger offer-
ings of street work so that more contractors would be interested.
A petition from the Lodi Lumber Company for a spur track
off the S.P.Compary's Valley Spring branch to their yards on
Rast Lockeford Street :pas read and ordered referred to the
City Attorney.
The application of Joe Migini to run a scaranger wagon
in the city was real and ordered filed without action thereon.

AST ORDINJAUNCE ESTABLISHING
GRADES, GRADE ELEVATIONS
AND CURB LINES ON CERTAIN
STREETS AND AVENUES, IN THE
CITY OF LODI, CALIFORNL3 AND
DEFINING THE TERM "CURB
RETURN." DEFINING AND ES-
TABLISHING THE LOCATION OF
GUTTERS, AND REPEALING ALL
ORDINANCES, OR PARTS OF
ORDINANCES, IN CONFLICT
WITH THIS ORDINANCE_
WHEREAS, the Board of Trustees
of the City of Lodi did, on the 18th
day of April, A. D. 1921, adopt Its
Resolution of Intention No. 32, to
change, modify, establish and re-
establish the grades of certain streets
and avenues in said City, and to fix
curb lines on certain street and ave-
nues in said City, as more particular-
ly set forth in said Resolution of In-
tention No. 32; and
Whereas, said Resolution of Inten-
tion was published in "The Lodi Sen-
tinel," a tri -weekly newspaper, pub-
lished and circulated in the said City
of Lodi, for four successive insertions,
and was posted by the City Clerk for
two days conspicuously on or near
the Council Chamber Door of said
Board of Trustees, all as required by
law; and
Whereas, The Superintendent of
Streets did issue his "Notice of
Change of Grade" dated April 18th,
A- D. 1921, and posted the same con-
spicuously on and along the streets
and avenues designated in said Res-
olution of Intention No. 32, which said
notice was headed "Notice of Change
of Grade," in letters not less than
one inch in height, and was published
in the aforesaid, "The Lodi Sentinel,"
for six successive insertions, and that
he posted not less than three notices
In all, and said notices were not more
than one hundred feet apart, all as re-
quired by law' and
Whereas, affidavits or proofs of the
publication in said "The Lodi Sen-
tinel." of said Resolution of Intention
No. 32, and of said "Notice of Change
of Grade," have been made, and are
now on file in the office of the City
Clerk of the City of Lodi; and,
Whereas, no protest or objection to
said proposed change or modification
of grade, was made or filed with the
City Clerk of said City, and,
Whereas, more than thirty days
have elapsed since the first publica-
tion of the Notice of the Passage of
Resolution of Intention No- 32;
Now Therefore, the Board of Trus-
tees of the City of Lodi, do ordain as
follows:

_ On motion of Trustee Rich. seconded by Trustee Crose, the clerk
was instructed to notify the garbage collectors to call twice each
week at the city hall to attend to the complaints against this service

Co= anications addressed to the President of the Board and to
the City Engineer from the State Board of Health, stating that the
engineers of that board would shortly make an extended survey of
the se -rage situation at Lodi were read and the board decided to view
the sewage disposal plants at Folsom and at Repressa on the follow-
ing Thursday as suegested in the letter addressed to President Mont-
gomery.
Mr. L. F. Barzellotti, City Engineer, made verbal report as to —
investigations made by himself and «ir. R.F.Goudey, Engineer of the
StateBoard of Health, looking tword the feasibility of making an
outfall for the sanitary sewer system at tidewater.
Four building permits for buildings to the amount of $6,200,
estimated cost were ordered granted.
On notion of Trustee Rich, seconded by Trustee Halle, bills to
the amount of $3,121.85 were ordered paid.
Reports of the Treasurer and City Clerk were read and the report
of the Treasurer referred to the Finance Committee.
Trustee Crose, seconded by Trustee Hickok, asked that at least
thirty lights be installed in the City Park and at the order of'the
board, the Superintendent of Public Utilities ,.as so instructed.
On motion of Trustee Hale, seconded by Tr-aatee Bich, the board
then adjourned until 8.00 P.:.I. April 25th.,1921.
