Councilmen Clark, _ Graffiana, 'deihe,.S-cooner'and Steele. present, none absent. The minutes of the last regular meeting held September 7th were read, approved as read and so indorsed by the %ayor. Vr. s-:rer Yirst accompanied by a numerous representation , presented signed statements of neighboring property oisners and tenants of his temp ground recomendin; this place as being sanitary and kept in 7ood condition. '.r. A. H. Bull.applied by letter for the position of Building Inspector and t"e application was ordered filed. Business Licenses Nos. 8510 to and inclu,',ing 8516 were elle7red and licenses or!?ered issued on ration of Councilman +eihe, seconded by ^ounciL:.en Iraffigna. ?dight applications for building permits No. 1768 to and including 1776 for structures to cost '5,200 were ordered granted. Crdinance yo. 240 entitled ^A2' C=,T.;6NC3 L=Na TA --:S ?OR 77AP. B-,^.IMTTI '^ JULY 13T, 1938" having been regularly introduced on September 7, 1937 was brought up for passage on motion of Councilren Spooner, seconded by Councilman Graffigna, read by the Clerk and finally passed, adopted and ordered to print by the follo*ring vote: XYS: Counciir:e n, Spooner, sraffigna, Clark, :7eihe and Steele YO -ES: Council -en, None. ABSW P: Councilren, i:one. Tha 1:avor then approved and signed the ordinance. Clai^s No. 30012 to and incluRing No. 30034 in the amount of 1699.31 as approved by the Finance Co:yittee were ordered paid on motion of Councilman Spooner, seconded by Councilman :7eihe. The City Attorney, Glenn ;Test, reported that the trial in the Superior ^.oust of S'an .oaquin County cf the case of City of Ladi vs. Last Pay `.'unicipal Utilities District would convene at 10:00 o'clock A.!'. of Thursday. September 23. 1937. Payor Steele repo -ted that a satisfactory settlement had been obtained through the good offices of the California dish and same Cor_-ission in re?ard to the pollution of the waters of the Lokelurme River by up- st,eem ^inin3 cor-mmies. On motion of Councilman Neihe, seconded by Councilman Clark the City Council then adjourned.
