HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes - March 16, 1937COUNCIL CHAMBERS -- CITY COUNCIL CITY HALL - - CITY OF LODI Tuesday, March 16, 1937 Pursuant to the a:'journment taken from the regular meeting of Marc; 15th, 1937, the City Council of the City of lodi met at 7:30 o'clock P.M. of Tuesday, Marc: 16th, 1937, Councilmen Clark, Graffigna, Weihe and Steele present, Councilman Spooner, absent. After comparison of the bids received on Plumbing Fixtures for the proposed comfort station in Hale Park, Councilman Weihe, seconded by Councilman Graffigna introduced Resolution No. 894 and on the reading of the same, it was adopted by the following vote: AYES: Councilmen, Weihe, Graffigna, Clark and Steele NOES: Councilmen, None. ABSENT: Councilmen, Spooner. RESOLUTION NO. 894 RESCLUTICN CF AWARD PLULmItr, FIXTURES A"TTJ FITTINGS WHEREAS, in accordance with the authorization heretofore given by this City Council, advertisement for sealed proposals for the furnishing of plumbing fixtures and fittings was had in time, form and manner as required by law, as is evidenced by the affid vit of the principal clerk of the publisher of the Lodi News -Sentinel on file and of record in the office of the City Clerk of this City, and; WHEREAS, several proposals were received in response to said advertisement and the same were publicly opened and declared before this City Council in regular session at 8:00 o'clock P.M. of Monday, March 15, 1937; and; WHEREAS, this City Council after the opening of said proposals ordered the same held for consideration until Tuesday, Ltaroh 16, 1937 at the hour of 7:30 o'clock P.M., now therefore, BE IT RESCLVED, that this City Council in adjourned regular session on Tuesday, the said 16th day of March, 1937 does hereby reject all proposals so received excepting that of the next named firm and awards the contract for furnishing the said materials at the price named in his proposal and in accordance with the notice first herein mentioned to: LonI PLUMING AND PE:.TING CCLIPANY 119 NORM SACRAMENTO Sl: f LODI, CALIFORNIA at Five Hundred Thirty-three and eighty-two one hundreths ($533.82) Dollars, being the price so named; This City Council hereby declares said proposal to be the lowest end best proposal received. The Council then proceeded to review and consider the proposals opened on T-iarch 15th for the purchase of trucks. Councilman Weihe, seconded by Councilman Graffigna introduced Resolution No. 895 and on reading of the same, it was eopted by the following vote: A"FS: ABSENT i : Councilmen, Weihe, Graffigna, Clark and Steele. Councilman Graffigaa seconded by Councilman Neihe then introduced -Resolution No. 896, and on reeling the same, it was adopted by the following vote: A` M: Councilmen, Graffigna, Weihe, Clark and Steele. RESCLU:ION NO. 896 P.ESCLUTION' F_-.TqrTTNq BIDS 024 11 TCN DMIP TRUCK 91D 3ECTING TO BUY IN OFEl4 UARM_ HESOL7XD, by the City Council of the City of Lodi that all proposals received on the 15th day of Larch, 1937 by this City Council for the furnishing of a one and one-half (1J) Ton dump truck be and the same are hereby rejected. iMSCL7ED, FUitT.Mt that this Council hereby finds and determines that it is to the best interest of the City of Lodi to purchase said truck or trucks in the open market and the City Engineer and the City Clerk of this City are hereby authorized to purchase said truck or trucks at the best price by them obtainable. 433 COUNCIL CHAMBERS - - CITY COUNCIL CITY HALL • - CITY OF LODI The Council then proceeded to review and consider the proposals opened on March 15th for the purchase of a concrete mixer. Councilman Greffigna, seconded by Councilman 7Jeihe introduced Resolution No. 897 and on reading of the same, it was adopted by the following vote: AYES: Councilmen, Graffigna, Weihe, Clark and Steele NCES: Councilmen, None. The :a*.nor then, at 3:40 o'clock P.L'. called the Council into executive session which continued until 9:37 o'clock P.U. when open session was resumed. Councilman 77eihe moved adjournment to 7:30 o'clock P.M. of L:onday, Larch 22, 1937 and the L'ayor declared the notion carried and adj-urnment was so taken.
