The City Council of the City of Lodi met in regular session et
8:00 o'clock -..._. of :.:outlay, December 21, 1936. Councilman 3reffigna,
Spooner, Clark, Wei -he and Steele present, none absent. Ater4e

was just recovering from a surgical operation.
The minutes of the lest meeting held December 7, 1936 were
raad, approved as read and so endorsed by the 1Nayor.
!Torsons appearing the order of Public hearings was passed
and the Council proceeded to hear communications end reports.
apnlicat`_ons for busiress licenses Nos. 272 and 273 were allowed
and ordered granted on ..potion of Councilman Orel. irna, seconded by
Councilman Clark.
The Clerk read a letterfthe te Department of .Ub1 is "orrs,
Division of Highways setting forth this allotment of gasoline
taxes for major streets and for hirhwa:s for the bienniun.
The Clerk submitted a proposal on behalf of A. F. Harrison,
who had audited the City's accounts for the fiscal year ended ,dune 38,
1934, wherein L:r. Harrison proposed to make a careful audit for the
rears 1935 and 1936 at a cost of $850.00. Cn motion of Councilman
Clark, seconded by Councilman a a.figna, the execution of an agreement
for this service was authorized for a sum not tc exceed $8500.00.
In the -Hatter of the annexation of new inhabited territory
designated as "Academy addition"::essrs. Spooner and 3raffi.gna publicly
and before t'e other members of the Council checked the returns of the
election as submitted by the City Clerk. Cn motion of Councilman Spooner,
seconded by Councilman "lark, -s olution No. 873 was introduced, read
by the Clerk _rid considered by the Ccuncil.

";FEF -7A3, a special annexation election. was held and conducted
within the territory hereinafter described upon the question hereinafter
stated, on Tuesday, the 15th day of December, 1936 after proceedings
duly and regularly held by this City Council and after due publication
of notices thereof, all in accordance with the "annexation act of 1913"
and amendments thereto, as is evidenced by the records of this City
Council and by affidavits on file and cf record with the City Clerk of this
City; therefore;
DE IT 7ESCL7ED, by the Cit; Council of the City of Lodi;
(1) That due and proper notice was given to the =ors of real
property situtated within said territory of the fact that annexation of
..heir propertyte this City was contemplated;
(2) That no protests from the owners of property situted within
said territory were received or filed;
(3) That r.ublications of the notices required by law end by order
of this City Council was had in time, form and v_.......r as so directed;
(4) That said election was held. and conducted and the returns
.hereof rade and canvassed at the times and in the r___ner provided by
raw and resolutions of this Cit- Council _:.3 that as .. result of the can-
vass of the votes cast thereat such can'ra._s of said _eturrs of election
ocing ..ad on Londay, the 21st day cf December, 1936, this City

six officers were each ordered increased by the sum of �10.00 per month

The City=ngineer, CX. Benning, presented a plan for a suggested
comfort station to be located in the 'Seth mouse Park and on motion of
Co,=.!ilman Graffi?na, seconded by Councilman Spcon�r, Resolution Na.

toilet 'facilities in the City Elm, Washington, Locust and Stcakton
