CITY HALL -- CITY OF LODI
Monday, lugust 3, 1936
The City Council of the City of Lodi met in regular tweeting at
8:09 olcloc;t ?:`. of Monday, August 3, 1936, Councilmen, Clark, Graffigna,
Spooner, Weihe and Steele present, None absent.
The minutes of the last tweeting held July 20, 1936 were read,
approved as read, and so indorsed by the 'mayor.
Mr. Clifford B. -Bull, representing the Lodi Volunteer Fire
Department asked that the two fire houses be refurnished and cleaned up
and also asked that additional beds be provided for the firemen, and on
ration of Councilman Spooner, seconded by Councilman Graffigna, this natter
was referred to the Committee on Public Health and Safety for consideration
with full power to act.
The report of the Chief of Police for the month of July and that
of the City Poundmaster for the same pariod was received, read and ordered
filed. The City Clerk, reported on inquiries he had made concerning bicycle
licensing ordinances adopted in Modesto, Oakland and Bakersfield.
A letter was received from the State Division of Parks asking
that the City Council indorse a measure to be on the ballot next election
which would permit 'slant drilling' into state oil pools along the coast
line. At the direction of the ::ayor this matter was laid over for
consideration until the next meeting.
The eccuculation of gasoline tax moneys received from the second
1/4•w gasoline tax was authorized by the adoption of Resolution No. 854.
R=SOLUTIONS NO. 854
R3SOLV3D, that the Mayor and the City Clerk be and they are
hereby am_thorize:, to execute an agreement for the accumulation of gasoline
taxes for the improvement of City streets of major importance, a copy of
which Agreement is amnexed hereto and made a ?art hereof for all purposes.
The forepl.9 Resolution No. 854 was then passed and adopted
by the following vote:

Steele
NO3S: Councilmen, None
ABSENT: Councilmen, None
Six buildia� permits, ap?licetions No. 1511 to and including
1516 for structures to cost $15,050.00 were allowed and ordered granted.
T'ne Clerk notified the City Council that the City's insurance
policy covering %blic Liability and Property Damage on motor vehicles
owned by the City would expire on August 29, 1936.
Claims No. 25888 to No. 27039 Inclusive for bills in the
amount of $101255.85 as approved by the Finance Committee were allowed and
ordered paid on motion of Councilman ";eche, seconded by Councilman Clark
and carried.
At the order of the Mayor, none dissenting, the City Council then
adjourned to the day and date of its next regular meeting.
