July 6, 1936 Monday.
The City Council of the City of Lodi met in regular session
at 8:00 ofelock P. M. on Monday, duly 6, 1936, Councilmen, Clark, Grafflgna,
Spooner, 'i7eihe and Steele, present. None absent.
The minutes of the regular meeting of June 15, 1936 and of the
meeting adjourned therefrom held June 23, 1936 were read, approved as read
and so indorsed by the Yzyor.
No persons appearing at this time the order of public hearings
was passed and the Council proceeded to hear reports and communications.
The report of the Chief of Police for the month of June was read and
ordered filed, also that of the Poundmaster for the same period.
The annual report of the Librarian of the Lodi Public Library
was received, read and ordered filed. A communication from -the librarian
notified the Council that the tern of office of air. Rob -art R. Rina as
a trustee of the library had expired on June 30, 1936. On motion of
Councilman Graffigna, seconded by Councilman Weihe, Resolution No. 853 was
Introduced, read at length and considered by the Council.
RESOLUTION NO. 853-4.
4HEREAS, the term of office of Mr. Robert H. Rinn as trustee
of the Lodi Public Library did expire on June 30, 1936;
HH IT RESOLVED, that the said Robert H. Rinn be, and he is
hereby appointed to serve as a trustee of the Lodi Public Library for the
statutory term of three years from and after the First day of July, 1336.
BE IT ALSO RESOLVED, that the City Clerk send a certified copy
of this resolution to Lr. Rinn and to the Librarian of the Lodi Public
Library.
The foregoing Resolution No. 853 was then passed and adopted
by the following vote:
AYES: Councilmen, Graf_'igna, Weihe, Clark, Spooner and Steele
NOES: Councilmen, None
ABS3N'T: Councilmen, None
Mr. Earl May, Secretary -Treasurer of the Lodi Volunteer Fire
Department filed the quarterly and annual report )f that department
together with a letter notifying the Council of the election of officers
of the department for the year ending June 30, 1937. The appointment of
these officers was ratified and confirmed by Resolution No. 852.

A RESOLUTION CO)IFI?MING THE A?POPITMENT OF OFFICERS OF
THE LODI V0LU9IT33R FIRE DEPART! 3ttT FOR THE FISCAL
YEAR EN )ING JUNE 30, 1937.
WHEREAS, the Lodi Volunteer Fire Department has submitted a
list of its recommendations for appointments to the various offices in said
department and the said recommendations mat with the approval of this City
Council;
THEREFORE, B3 IT R3SOLVED, that the following named persons are
hereby approved and confirmed.

The foregoing Resolution No. 852 was then passed and adopted
by the following vote:
AYES: Councilmen, Craffigna, Weihe, Clark, Spooner and Steele
NO3S: Councilmen, Hone
ABSENT., Cour^.oilmen, None
A letter was received from Mr. falter B. Hogan, president of the
Central Malley Branch of the League of California Municipalities, calling a
meeting of the branch league to be held in Modesto on the 16th day of July.
Four Council --en signified that they would be able to attend and the Clerk
was so directed to notify Mr. Hogan.
S letter regarding coming legislation affecting municipally owned
utilities was received from C. R. Reid, Secretary of the California Municipal
Utilities Association.
On motion of Councilman Spooner, seconded by Councilman Clark
the City Clerk was directed to accept the deed tendered by L. T. Mason
and Clara E. Mason, his wife on June 15, 1936 for certain lands bordering
on the properties heretofore acquired by the City from Mr. Mason.
Eleven building Termits Mos. 1493 to 1543 inclusive for
structures to cost $11,010 were allowed and ordered granted.
Claims in the emouat of $18,025.96 being Mos. 26629 to and
Including 26826 as approved by the Finance Committee were ordered paid on
motion of Councilman Clark, seconded by Councilman Aeihe.
No further business appearing at this time the Council adjourned
until the date of its next regular meeting on motion of Councilman Spooner
none dissenting.
