HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes - June 22, 1936342 COUNCIL CHAMBERS -- CITY COUNCIL CITY HALL -- CITY OF LODI June 2S, 1936, Monday Pursuant to its adjournment from the regular meeting of June 16, 1936, the City Council of the City of Lodi met in adjourned regular session at 8:00 o'clock of Monday, June 22, 1936. Councilmen, Clark, Graffigna, Spooner, We1he and Steele present, Mone absent. The Clerk read a protest signed by thirty-six owners of real property residing in the district affected thereby against the construction of a winery in the Northwest corner of Block 69 of the Lodi Barnhart Tract. There being no application for the building permit before the Council at this time, the protest was ordered filed until such time as the application would be before the Council for consideration. The Councilmen individually expressed themselves as being opposed to the construction of such a plant within the City limits. Ordinance No. 227 entitled 'AN ORDINANCE AME!DING ORDINANCE NO. 154 OF THE CITY OF I.CDI BY PROVIDING THE CONDITIONS UNDER i1HICH CATS MAY BE KEPT IN SAID CITY," having been regularly introduced in the City Council on the 15th day of June, 1936, was brought up for final passage and second reading omitted on motion of Councilman Graffigna, seconded by Councilman Neihe. Ordinance No. 154 was then regularly passed, adopted and ordered to print by the following vote: AYES: Councilmen, Graffigna, ilelhe, Clark, Spooner and Steele NOES: Councilmen, None ABSENT: Councilmen, None The Mayor then signed and approved said Ordinance No. 227. Gtr. C. B. Stemler addressed the Council in regard to the annexation of that part of the Lodi Barnhart Tract lying South of Poplar Street end also in regard to the non -enforcement of Ordinance No. 216 relating to the hours and prices for barber shops, The Council informally recorded its opinion as being opposed to any effort to secure a portion of the county gasoline tax fund for city street Improvement at this time.
