HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes - November 4, 193526� COUNCIL CHAMBERS -- CITY COUNCIL CITY HALL --CITY OF LODI Monday, November 4, 1935 The City Council of the City of Lodi met in regular meeting at 8:00 ofelock P. M. of Monday, November 4, 1935. Councilmen Clark, Graffigna, Spooner, Weihe and Steele present. None absent. The minutes of the regular meeting of October 21, 1935 and those of the special meeting held October 29, 1935 were read, approved as read and so indorsed by the Mayor. No persons appearing at this time, the order of public hearings was past and the clerk proceeded to read reports and communications. (At this time, 8:17 o'clock ?.M. Councilman Spooner asked to be excused and left the meeting.) The monthly reports of the Chief of ?olive for the month of October and that of the City Poundcaster for the same period were received, read and ordered filed. Five bullding.permits, No. 1352 to No. 1356 for structures to cost #755.00 were allowed and ordered granted. On motion of Councilman Clark, seconded by Councilman Grafflgna Resolution No. 813 was introduced and read in full by the Clerk. RESOLUTION NO. 813 RESOLVED, that this City Council of the City of Lodi, County of San Joaquin, State of California make application for a Works Progress Administration project for the purpose of compiling and arranging delinquent tax records, indexing ordinances and other records and reconciliation of surveys with tax records in the offices of the City Clerk and that J. F. BLAKELY, City Clerk of this City be and he is hereby appointed to act as Fiscal Officer for the purpose of signing such papers as are necessary to put this project into operation, further, -that G. M. STEELE, Mayor of this City be and he is hereby appointed to act as the Sponsor's Agent to sign all necessary papers for putting this project into operation and for its continued maintenance. The foregoing Resolution No. 813 was then passed and adopted by the following vote: AYES: Councilmen, Clark, Graffigna, Weihe and Steele NOES: Councilmen, None Absent:Councilmen, Spooner On motion of Councilman Clark, seconded by Councilman Graffigna Resolution No. 814 was introduced and read in full by the Clerk. RESOLUTION 140. B14 RESOLVED, that this City Council of the City of Lodi, County of San Joaquin, State of California make application for a Works Progress Administration project for the purpose of selecting and mounting pictures that have accumulated in the City Library; also the mending of books In the City Library, and that J. F. BLAKEELY, City Clerk of this City be and he is hereby appointed to act as Fiscal Officer for the purpose of signing such papers as are necessary to put this project into operation, further, that G. M. STEELS, Mayor of this City be and he is hereby appointed to act as the Sponsorls Agent to sign all necessary papers for putting this project Into operation and for Its continued maintenance. The foregoing Resolution No. 814 was then passed and adopted by the following vote. AYES: Councilmen, Clark, Graffigna, Weihe and Steele NOES: Councilmen, None ABSENT: Councilman, Spooner COUNCIL CHAMBERS - - CITY COUNCIL CITY HALL - - CITY Of LODI Ordinance No. 214 having been regularly introduced at a regular meeting of October 21, 1935 was introduced for passage on Notion of Councilman Weihe, seconded by Councilman Clark. Ordinance No. 214 entitled AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE ESTABLISHMENT OF THE "SPECIrL GASOLINE TAX STREET IM1FROVEMENT FU!ID^ AND REQUIRING THAT ALL MONEYS RECEIVED UNDER THE PROVISIONS OF ARTICLE 5 CHAPTER 1, DIVISION I OF THE STREETS AND HIGHWAYS CODE SHALL BE DEPOSITED THEREIN AND 1KX?ENDED THEREFROM, was finally passed and ordered to print by the following vote: AYES: Councilmen, Clark, Meihe, Graffigna and Steele NOES: Councilmen, None ABSENT: Councilmen, Spooner Bills comprising claims No. 24901 to and including No. 25,032 as approved by the Auditing Committee were allowed and ordered paid In the total amount of $15,489.86. No further business appearing at this time, on motion of Councilman Weihe, seconded by Councilman Clark, the City Council adjourned. J.
