HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes - August 9, 1935233 COUNCIL CHAMBERS -- CITY COUNCIL CITY HALL. -CITY OF LODI Friday August 9,1935 Pursuant to the adjournment taken from its regular meeting of August 5th.,1935, the City Council of the City of Lodi met at 8:00 o'clock P.M. on the date and at the place first above written, Councilmen Clark, Spooner, Weihe and Steele (Mayor) present, Councilmen Kesgle absent. I Mr Edward Hutchins being present, presented a "Petition for Annexation to the City of Lodi of Uninhabited Territory" signed by 361 electors of the City asking that a part of "Hutchins Homestead Addition" immediately adj- oining the westerly city limits be annexed to the City of Lodi. The petition was ordered received and filed, and, on motion of Council - map Spooner, Councilman Weihe second, the following Resolution was introduced: RESOLUTI04 40. 793 WHEREAS, on august 9th.,1935 there was filed with the City Council of the City of Lodi, of the State of California, a written petition, containing a description of new uninhabited territory (which territory is hereinafter described) and asking that such territory be included in said municipal corporation, the City of Lodi; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, as follows: (1) That the territory herein referred to, and which is proposed to be annexed to and Included in said City, is situated in the County of San Joaquin, State of California, and bounded and described as follows: A part of HUTCHINS HOMESTEAD ADDITION, as per map thereof filed September 13,1922 and recorded in Vol.10 of Maps and Plats at page 60 in the office of the County Recorder of the County of San Joaquin, State of California, which part of said addition is bounded on the South by the north line of "Sargent Road" on the West by the went line of Orange Avenue as said avenue is delineated on man recorded in volume 11 of Maps and Plats at Page 13 in the office of the County Recorder of San Joaquin County, California, on the North by the south line of Oak Street, and on the last by the westerly boundary of said City. (2) That said written petition Is in due form and complies with all the provisions of Act 5193, General Laws of the State of California, and acts amendatory thereto, and that said petition duly and regularly asks that said territory be annexed and made a part of said City. (.) That said territory, so proposed to be annexed, is uninhabited. (4) That said written petition is duly and regularly signed by more that one-tenth in number of the qualified electors of such municipal coro- oration, City of Lodi, computed upon the number of votes cast at the last general municipal election held in said City. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that G.M.STSELS, Mayor of said City and J.F. BLAKELY, Clerk of said City, for and on behalf of said City and for and on behalf of the City Council of said City, be, and they are hereby authorized and directed, without delay, to notify the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Joaquin, State of California (being the County in which said City is located) of the fact of the filing of such petition. CITY Or LOCI miEREiiS, this City Council did, or. the 3rd day of June,1935 approve the preparation of a supplimentary agreement for the expenditure of the sum of $2,000.00 from this Cityts allocation of one-fourth gasoline tax on the improvement of a portion of State Highway No.53, to -wit, on the unimproved Portion of East Lockeford Street lying west of Cherokee Lane Highway; Nir, WFEFRAS, said supplimentary agreement, entitled "SECOND SUPPLIbiENTAL &ffVC1R.A."IDTN OF AM"3VMNT* has been prepared by the Department of Rehlic Works , Division of Highways, and has beer this eveningsubmitted for approval and execution; ES iT RESOLv3D, that this City Council hereby approves said °SECOND SU?P- LTUPITAr "trOPaATMIM OF ArRESUrIT" and hereby authorizes G. 9. ST231E as Mayor of the City of Lodi and J.P.BLASELY, as City Clerk thereof, to sign and execute said agreenent for and on behalf of this City and to deliver the same to said Department of Public Works. The foregc'ng Resolution No. 792 was Hereupon passed and adopted by the following vote :- AYES: Councilman, Clark, Spooner, Weihe and Steele. NOES: Councilmen, None. SBSRNT: COU"IC?L_uA*i Keagle.
