Monday, July 15th., 1935
The City Council of the City of Lodi, California,
met in rePular session in the Council Chambers at the City
Hall in the City of Lodi, on Monday. July 15th., 1935 at the
_ hour of 8:0.0 o'clock, P.M. The meeting was called to order by
Mayor Steele. The Clerk called the roll. Those present and
those absent were as follows: --
Present: Councilmen, Clark, Spooner, Vileihe,
Steele (Mayor)
.absent: Councilmen, Zeagle
Liinutes of the adjourned regular meeting of July 8th.,
1935 were read, and altered by the addition of the words "until
his return", in regard to the appointment of Mr. Clark to serve
as Clerk during the absence of Mr. Blakely, and were approved
as corrected, and so ordered by the Mayor.
No persons desiring to address the Council at this
time, the order of Public Hearings was passed and the Council
proceeded so hear communications and reports.
A letter was read from the Tax Research Inc., relative
to tax refund to the Pacific Gas & Electric Corporation, and on
motion of Councilman Spooner and second by Councilman Weibe, the
communication was referred to the City Attorney and the City
Clerk for further disposal.
A letter was read from Arthur Rhodes applying for a
position on the construction work of the contemplated municipal
power plant to be constructed on the upper Mokelumne -River, and
The Clark was instr::cted to acknowledge receipt of the same and
ordered filed.
The report of the Lodi Public Library for the year
ending June 30th was read and ordered filed.
An oral report was made b�7 Acting City Engineer,
C. 0. a`enning on the progress of the building of the necessary
sanitary facilities at the Lodi Municipal Lake ?ark to comely
with the rules and regulations of the San Loaquin Local Health
District. stating that they would be ready tomorrow to pour
the concrete for the building, which is planned for the accom-
modation of about 2,000 people. Suggestions were offered by
Councilman Weihe, which the Engineer advised were being complied
with.
This being the first regular meeting of the City Council
after the introduction of Ordinance No. 211, on July 1st., 1935,
at which time it was ordered laid over for the statutory period of
not less than five days and said Ordinance No. 211, was presented

Coun2ilmen Spooner and seconded by Councilman Weihe t}:at said
Ordinance No. 211 be passed and adopted. Carried by the following
vote of the members of the Council: -
Ayes: Councilmen, Clark, Spooner, Weihe,
Steele
Nous: Councilmen NONE
Not 'Toting: (Absent) Councilman Reale
Ordinance No. 211 was thereupon signed by the L•iL or.
Preparatory to the reading and introduction of Ordinance
No. 212, Attorney J. P. Mandl. of the le¢al personnel of the Federal
Emergency Administration of Public Works, was introduced to the City
Council by City Attorney Glenn West. A letter of transmittal and a
letter reviewing the cost estimate for the Diesel hydro -electric
Project proposed for the City of Lodi to be constructed on the upper
Mokelu.-:r-e River were received from the Board of Consulting Engineers
composed of N.A. Ev ert. F.C. Herrman, and :'alter L. Huber-, and
read by Ci,y Att-)rney fest.

Spooner, Ordinance No. 212 passed Pirst Reading by t -he follow-

Unon motion of Councilman 'Neihe, and seconded by
Councilman. Spooner, the Acting City Engineer was authorized
to consult the Armory 3uildine Architect, Mr. Joseph
Losekar_:;, and insist on hi4 alterir_;r the plans and specifi-
cations of the Armory. to eliminate the two steps on entering
the front door, so that there will be a ramp instead, as
ordered by the Ajd. General. Carried by the following cote
of the members of the Council: -
Ayes: Courcilmen Clark, Spooner, Weihe,
Steele.

Upon motion of Councilman Clark, and seconds by
Councilman �neibe, claims and bills in the amount of -8419.56
as approved by a majority of the ?finance Committee were allowed
and ordered paid. Motion carried,.
Upon motion of Councilman 'Weihe and seconded by
Councilman Clark, and carried unanimously, the City Council
adjourned to meet on Monday July 22, 1935 at the hour of
