HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes - June 17, 1935i1 COUNCIL CHAMBERS--C1iY COUNCIL CITY -HALL --CITY Of LODI Monday, June 17, 1935 the City Council of the City of Lodi met at 8:00 o'clock P.M. on the date first above written, Councilmen Spooner, Veihe and Steele present, Councilmen Clark and Keagle absent. The minutes of the Special Meeting of :Say 29th, the Regular maeting of June 3rd, the meeting adjourned therefrom held June 5th and of the Spacial Meeting of June 11th were read, approved as read and so endorsed by the Mayor. No persons appearing, the order of Public Hearings was passed, also that of Communications. It appearing that the term of office of Dr. J.E.Nelson as Trustee of San Joaquin Local Health District had expired, on motion of Councilman Weihe, Spooner second, Dr Nelson was re -appointed for the statutory term of two years. The terms of office of Dr W.J.Coffield and Mr George L. Meissner as Trustees of Lodi Public Library being about to expire; they were re -appointed Trustees for the three-year term beginning July 1, 1935. It also appearing that there was a vacancy on this Board caused by the death of Mr George Le Feber who was appointed Trustee on July 3, 1933, the City Council appointed Mr Robert Rinn to act during Ur Is Feber's unexpired term, or until July 1, 1935; this appoint- ment was made on motion of Councilman Spooner. 1eibe second. Five building permits for structures to cost $5,350.00 were ordered granted. Mr Glenn fest, City Attorney, as previously instructed, presented a formal form of protest against the application of the City of Pittsburg to divert waters of the Mokelumne River, and, after reading and consideration of the same, its execution and filing with the Division of dater Resources was directed by the adoption of the following Resolution:- R-ESOLUTION NO. 783. 3E IT RESOLVED BY Tial' CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LODI, SAN JOAQUIN C= Y, CALIFORNIA, that, W=ZAS, the City attorney of this City has exhibited to the City Council a protest to be filed by said City against the application of the City of Pittsburg, No.8283, filed with the Division of nater Resources, Department of Public Works, of the State of California, to divert certain waters from the Mokelumne River; NOW, liver- NOW, THEREFORE, the said proposed protest is hereby approved, and G.M.Steele, Mayor and J.F.Blakely,City Clerk of said City of Lodi, are hereby authorized and directed for and on behalf of said City to sign, seal and execute the said protest; and Glenn Best, City Attorney of said City is hereby authorized and directed to serve a copy thereof upon said City of Pittsburg and to file said protest with the said Division of Water Rights and in all respects prosecute and defend the said protest. The foregoing Resolution No. 783 was thereupon passed and adopted by the following vote: - AYES: Councilmen, Spooner, Weihe and Steele (Mayor) NOES: Councilmen, None. . ABSENT: Councilmen, Clark and Keagle. The Mayor then declared the resolution adopted. In the absence of Councilman Clark, the Mayor appointed Councilman W.A.Spooner as a member of the Auditing Committee for the period of this meeting for the purpose of auditing claims filed and presented.
