CITY HALL -- CITY OF LODI
Tuesday - April 23, - 1935
At the call of the Mayor, the City Council of the City of Lodi
met in special session at 7:30 of clock ?.M. on the date first above
written, Councilmen Clark, Spooner, Weihe and Mayor Steels present,
Councilman Keagle absent, it being reported that he was still too
i11 to leave hos residence.
Mayor Steele stated that this meeting had been called in regard to
the Emergency Relief :administration project for constructing a building
suitable for use of the local unit of the California National Guard. It
appeared from conversations with the 5.3.R.A. authorities that this
project would have to be completed in usable units in order to maks
the construction period less than thirteen weeks, which is the limit
now set for S.E.R. . projects. Captain Charles White of the local
National sward Battery was present and stated that completion of the
principal part of the building would a::comodate the battery and
Er D. D. Smith, of the Lodi District Chamber of Commerce assured the
Council that there would be no doubt but that the 5.3.3.3. would
rant supplimcntary applications until the building was complete.
On motion of Councilman Spooner, Clark second, Resolution No.757
authorizing modification of the City's filed application for a project
to construct an armory building so that the main part of the building
would be erected at this time ras introduced and read at length. The
said Resolution No. 757 was thereupon passed and adopted by the following
vote: -
AYES: Councilmen, Spooner, Clark, Weihe and Mayor Steele.
NOES: Councilmen, None. ABSENT: Councilman, Ceagle.
:after some informal discussion on the status of delinquent light
and water bills, the Council adjourned at'the order of the Mayor.
