Monday, September 17, 1934
This regular meeting of the City Council of the City of
_odi was called to order by the Mayor at 8:00 o'clock P.L:.
on the date first above written, Councilmen Clark, :eagle,
Spooner, Voeihe and Steele (Payor) present, none absent.
The minutes of the last meeting held September 4th,1934
were read, approved as read and so endorsed by the Mayor.
Yr G.R.Nance and Iv?r Y:.G.Nema addressed the Council con-
cerning alleged nuisances maintained amoung the foreign
element on Railroad Avenue. They were heard and referred
to the Police and Health Departments.
OEDINANCL NO. 206 entitled " ;17 CRDII ANC3 LEVYIIuG TABS
OR T -E F ISC.,L YEAR B.EGII�NIDG JULY 1st. ,1935 " having been
regularly introduced on motion at the meeting of Septemher
4th and by the same motion, laid over for not less than
five dabs, was brought up for passage on motion of Council-
man seihe, Clark second, and finally passed, adopted and
ordered to print by the following vote: -
AYES: Councilmen, Weihe,Clark,Zeagle,Spooner and Steele.
NOES: Councilmen, Done. ABSZNT: Councilmen, Bone.
The Layor then approved and signed the ordinance.
Three building permits for structures to cost $2,050.00
were ordered granted. Application No. 1159 conditionally
upon the installation of a legal flue.
Bills in the sum of ;3,684.78 as approved by the Finance
Committ were allowed and ordered paid on motion of Council-
man Yeihe, Clark second. The claim of A.J.Randolph in the
sum of $6.00 for fire signs was not allowed as no one had
knowledge of the same.
City Attorney Glenn freest addressed the Council on the status
of pending suits filed in the Federal Courts by Activated
Sludge Limited against the City for patent infringement.
He stated that several California cities were also being sued
and that a conferance of attorneys would be held at Pasadena
September 19th to consider methods of action. He also stated
that he rad obtained a postponement of the case.
No further business appearing, the Council adjourned on
order of the"_ayor, none dissenting.
