HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes - March 5, 193492 COUNCIL CHAMBERS -- CITY COUNCIL CITY HALL - - CITY OF LODI Monday March 5,1934 The City Council of the City of Lodi :net at 8:00 o'clock P.:..on the date first above written, Councilmen Clark, Yeagle, Spooner, Weihe and Steele (Mayor) present, none absent. she minutes of the last regular meeting held February 19, 1934 were read, approved as read and so endorsed by the Mayor. Pio persons appearing, the order of Public Hearings, was passed. The report of the Chief of Police for the month of February was received, read and ordered filed, likewise the report of City ?oundmaster F. S. Cooper for the same month. The Clerk read a letter from League of California Municip- alities containine recommendations of its advisory committee on unit action in legislation and in regard to control of the liquor traffic. In the matter of_the regular municipal election to be held April 9th.,1934, precincts were established, polling places named and electron officers appointed and their com- pensation fixed by the adoption of Resolution No. 706 by the following vote :- AYES: - AYES: NOES: Councilmen, 'r;eihe,Keagle.Clark,Spooner and Steele. Councilmen, hone. 33SENT: Councilmen, None Anrdin ce ex me ing the keepers of commercial dog kennels/WEgmptgisehiglntat owing to the difficulty of properly defining this class of business, introduction was deferred until the next meeting. Councilman :eine recommended the plowing and leveling of the lands south of the Sewage Disposal Plant in preparation far planting trees, stating that a man and team could be had for :6.00 per day and that the work could be done in about four days. He also asked for the purchase of 48.00 worth of fertilizer for Lawrence Park and the purchase of privet to the amount of $6.00 for a hedge in Ltaple Square and that certain surplus trees in this square be removed. On notion of Councilman Weihe, Clark second, these recommendations were allowed. Bills in the amount of 49.,842.25 as approved by the Finance Committee were allowed. Two building permits for structures to cost $400.00 were ordered granted.
