The Cit7 Council of the Cit,; of Lodi met at 9 o'clock
on the a at . first above written, Councilmen Clark, Zeag-e

Spooner, and Major Steele resent, none absent.
No persons beim in attendance, the order of Public Hearings
..as passed and the Council proceeded to hear Co!..,tueications and
_.eports .
Fred A. :ra:^.boni solicited,by letter, the ~work of revaluinz
improvements on real property for assessment.
Lodi Community '„elfare Council notified the Council that its
quarterly meetinz ,:as beim held _;o:ember 7th.,1932.
The Monthly Tort of the Chief of Police, likewise that of
,:e Cit„ Pc.;ndmaster was read and ordered filed.
Eizht buildin3 permits aa_regating • 1,655.00 were °ranted.
Councilman ',.eihe stated that he thou:zht that some action should
oe taken to reduce or eliminate the water charge azainst Ward
sreag's-rocer7 on Cherokee Lane. The Clerk was directed to Wane
up a list of similar premises and submit it at next meeting.
Superintendent of Public Utilities stated that the registration
on Schnaidt Druz Store, Sahool Pine Streets, showed that a bill
of :a 25.80 was due for October, caused by a stuck valve on the
automatic carbonator in the basement. After considerable discus-
sion, the Council decided that a compromise reduction of 50% should
be allowed in this instance.
Lir Robert Y. Searls, of special counsel for the City in the
water cases, addressed a letter to the 2.:ayor in regard to the
conduct of the case, and the sane was read at length abd ordered
filed.
Sills in the amount of •217,556.53 as approved b;; the Pi_nance
Committ.e were allowed annd ordered raid on motion of Councilman
Sp.oner, ,..___w second; the claim of H.7.Carter Company for mower
repairs was again disallowed.
