The City Council of the City of Lodi met at 8 o'clock
P.M. on the date first above written, C.uncil-men Clark,
K_eagle,,ieihe and Steele present, Councilman Spooner absent.
The minutes of the regular meeting of July 18th, the
adjourned meeting of July 25th and the regular meeting of
August lst,1932 were read, approved as read and so endorsed
by the Mayor.
Lir Jilson H. Thompson appeared in behalf of the Library
budget as submitted by the Librarian and asked that her
estimated needs be provided in the -next tax levy.-
L.C.7isler of National Audit & Appraisal Canpany add-
ressed the Council soliciting an appointment to audit the
City accounts.
Yr Geroge D. Polenske, acting Secretary of Lodi Vol-
unteer Fire Department advised the Council that Mr Louis H.
Rinn had been elected President of that body and asked that
the City Council a*prove his election. On motion of Council-
man Ke le, ,ieihe second, the action of the Department was
approved and Er Rinn accepted as President thereof.
The City Council then retired into executive session
as Committee of the ,hole to consider a budget and the
next year's tag levy, returning to open session later.
O <DINANCE NO. 192, " AN ORTINANCE LEVYING TAXES FOR
THE FISCAL YEAR B_rzIN1Y4ItG JULY 1, 1933" was introduced and
laid over for the statutory period of -not less than five
days.
On notion of Councilman deihe, Keagle second, bills
in the amount of $5,149.49 as -approved by the Finance Com-
mittee were allowed and ordered'oaid.
The City Council then adjourned at the order of the
Mayor. to meet on September 6th,1932 at 8 o'clock P.M. as
the first Monday in September would be a holiday.
