Cit; Council of the City of Lodi met in regular
8 o'clock P.M. on the date first above written,
Clark, Keagle, Spooner, Teihe and Steele present.

approved as read and so enorsed by the Mayor.
::r Virgil Ledbetter asked that the City erect an 8 ft
board fence, 300 feet in length along the northerly boundary
of the ball park in Laurence =ark, stating that the teams
using the field would pay two-thirds of the cost if the City
would pay the balance. Estimated total cost $60.00. At the
order of the Mayor, this hatter was laid over for the time
being, to be taken up later in the meeting.
A letter of thanks for the City's part in receiving
the State Convention of the Sons ,g, Daughters of Hermann was
received and read, also a letter from the Student Body of
Lodi inion_ High School thanking the City Council for allotirg
a portion of the appropriation for music to the support of
the publication of. the High School Annual.
The Clerk read acknowledEements from the State Div-
ision of pater Ri;hts and from the attorney of Pacific Gas
and Electric Company stating that certified copies of Resol-
ution No. 559 adopted May 16th,1932 had been received by
each.
:acEacher_ & Uaclntyre .of San Francisco submitted an
estimate for the annual audit of the City accounts, but same
not having been requested, no action was taken.
The Chief of Police and the City Pound !aster each
filed their reports of the receipts of their respective
offices for the month of Lay and the same were ordered
filed.
- John. Dauer submitted a tentative list of the dates
on which band concerts would be held during the summer.
The City Clerk advised the City Council that the
property formerly owned by John F. Snyder, which is subject
to tax and street assessment sale liens, was about to be
sold by the County Tax Collector. This matter was referred
to the City Attorney.
Mayor Steele stated that he had received requests
that Church Street be opened from Sturia Street, southerl.
After some discussion, it :,as decided that this.was a matter
for the interested property owners to decide.
The matter of the bail -park fence -was now brought up
and after considerable discussion by councilmen and oEhers,
it was ordered that the City pay one-half the cost of this
--fence, estimated at not to exceed $30.00, provided that no
advertising signs be displayed thereon.
Mir Carl Jishek on behalf of the Boy Scouts of America
asked permission to partition off a portion of the space in
the North --..est end of the City Hall basement for use by the
various scout troops; on motion of Councilman Spooner, Keagle
second, permission ordered granted subject to remain at the
pleasure of the City Council.
R.B.Steyer asked that the City put a pool in Lawrence
park for storing Eamboosia used in abating mosquitos; no act-
ion taken. Mr Steyer also advocated the City taking Lrnediate
measures against rats in the City DLmp Ground and this :las

power to purchase poison if deemed necessary.
Counci Lan Spooner reported t -at he had received com-
plair_ts against ro.;dyism at the Hi;zh School band concerts and
the Chief of Police was directed to have an officer in atten-
daroce hereafter.

Councilman. Clark stated that the truck drivers were
villing to paint Eaple Square fire house if the City would
furnish paint - referred to Cam-ittee on ?ublic Health and
Safety for investigation as to necessity and cost.

to the indf fference .of the Federal Poster Cormiission, in that
it had not even acknowledged receipt of the Council's resol-
ution asking that decision in the natter of 11iddle Bar Dam of
Bast Bay 'iunicipal Utility District be expedited; on motion of
Councilman Spooner, Keagle second, the folloring resolution
aas thereupon adopted by the following vote :-

City Attorney of said City did under date of April l3th.,1932,

mission re uesting a decision on said petition and protest; and,
i'BAS, no reply has o -;en received from said federal
Power Cerznission and -.rhereas, said federal forcer Con -mission
pas not acknowledged receit of said letter or of said cert-
ified copy of said resolution, and has made no decision u,,on
said petition and protest; and,
i W';iS, in order to protect the ri;hts of said City of
Lodi and of farmers residing in the vicinity of said City it
is necessary that an i-:� ediate decision be made u -.-on said
petition and protest ;

of said City is hereby instructed to write to said liederal
Power Cormnission and to each and every mw4ber thereof, request -

ro that an immediate decision on said petition and protest
be made and that certified codes of this resolution be sent
to said Federal Pourer Ccs-;ijsion and to each of the members
thereof.

Bills in the amount of $10,671.11 as approved by the
Finance Co=ittee were alloyed and ordered paid on motion of
Councilman'ieihe, Keegle second. The claim of J.7 11umbert Conc-
rete pipe Company for alleged damage to pipe ;ras not alloyed.
