March 8th., 1932 This regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Lodi was called to order by the Mayor at 8 o'clock P.M. on the date first above written, Councilmen Keagle,Roach,Steele.:7eihe and Spooner present, none absent. The minutes of the last meeting held February 15th were read, approved as read and so endorsed by the Mayor. Mr y.H.Lorenz, City Treasurer Tax Collector appeared and asked that his salary be increased to at least $100.00 per month, citing the volunne of business handled and savings effected through the handling of the City's moneys in his office, this matter was set over until later in the meeting. D.R.Ritchie and others residing in the blocks adjoining the Northwest corner of School and 4alnut Streets appeared in protest against the establishment of.a mortuary at that locat- ion, asking thet the zone eztablished by Ordinance No. 189 be further restricted so as to place it in restricted territory. ORDINANCE No. 190 "AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING A ZONE FOR UNDERTAKING ESTABLISHiElvTS WITHIN THE CITY OF LODI FOR THE PUBLIC HEALTH, COb4FORT, CONVENIENCE, SAFETY AND WELFARE OF SAID CITY" was introduced on motion and laid over for the.statut- ory period of not less than five days. S.A.Gerrard Company applied by letter for permission to install and operate a 250 gallon underground gasoline tank and pump at its shed, Main & Oak Streets. Permit ordered granted. The reoort of the Chief of Police for the month of Feb- ruary and that of the City Poundmaster covering the same month was read and ordered filed. Electrical Products Company applied forennission to install a "Neon" sign at 107 South School Street for Franklin Tire Company. Application ordered granted. Two building permits for structures to cost $900.00 were granted. A petition asking that a traffic officer be appointed and asking that Mr Chas. R. Fisher be selected for the appointment was received and read. This was ordered referred to tie Com- mittee on Public Health and Safety for investigation within the next thirty days. Superintendent of Public Utilities, Mr John A. Henning recommended that the existing four inch water mains connecting the Barnhart Tract pump be replaced with six inch mains and it was so ordered on motion of Councilman Steele. Resolution No. 654, "Resolution Establishing Polling Places, Appointing Election Officers and Fixing Their Compen- sation" in preparation for the General Municipal Election of April llth.,1932, was adopted by the following vote :- AYES:. COUNCILMEN, 'Jeihe,Roach,Keagle,Steele & Spooner NOES: Councilmen, NONE ABSENT: NONE At 9.14 P.M. the City Council was resolved into committee of the whole and entered into executive session being called back to regular session at 9.45 P.M. = minutes of .:arch o -.)oz continued) Resolution No. 655 " A Resolution Fixing the Salary of the City Treasurer and Ex -officio Tax Collector of the City of Lodi" was introduced and adopted by the following vote: - ATES: Councilmen, •7eihe,Keagle,Roach,Steele & Spooner. NOES: Councilmen, NONE, ABSENT: Councilmen, NONE. R3SOLUTION NO. 655 A RESOLUTION FIXING THE SALARY OF THE CITY TREASURER AND EX-0:('ICIO TAX COLLECTOR OF THE CITY OF LODI. BE IT RESCLVED by the City Council of the City of Lodi, THAT : from and after the 18th day of April, 1932, the salary paid the City Treasures and Tax Collector of the City of Lodi shall be as follows :- AS TREASURER, the sum of Twenty-five Dollars, monthly, AS TAX COLLECTOR, the span of Fifty Dollars monthly. Said salary shall be paid to said officer on warrants issued from approved pay -rolls in the same manner and at the same times as all City salaries are paid. Bills in the amount of $11,487.92 as a proved by the Finance Committee were allowed and ordered paid on motion of Councilman Keagle, Roach second.
