City Hall - City of Lodi
Monday, August 3, 1931.
This regular meeting of the City Council of the City of
Lodi was called to order at 8:0:, o'clock P. M on the date first
above written. Councilmen ::eagle, Roach, Steele, and Weihe
were present at roll call, Mayor Spooner absent. On motion of
Councilman 2:eagle, seconded by 'Councilman Weihe Councilman Steele
was chosen Mayor pro team and opened the meeting.
The Lodi District Chamber of Commerce allowed Office 1o. 2
to be used 3 months for local grape control bodies.
The report of the Pound Master for July was received, read,
and ordered filed.
On motion of Councilman :eagle, seconded by Councilman Roach,
the City Clerk was directed to order the steel necessary to replace
the screen chamber roof at the Sewage Disposal Plant,
Ordinance No. 185, an ordinance granting to the Central
California Traction Company, a corporation, and to it successors and
assigns, for suck term, period and length of time as shall meet with
the pleasure of the City Council of the City of Lodi, the right,
privilege and permission to construct and maintain railroad tracks
of standard gauge, and operating locomotives, cars, motors and other
rolling stock upon, over and across certain streets in the City of
Lodi, introduced by Councilman Weihe, seconded by Councilman Zeagle,
was ordered laid over for not less than 5 days.
Tuna
The City Engineer was directed to speed up work on Cherokee
by the adoption of the following: -
RESOLUTION:
Resolved b:; the City Council of the City of Lodi that the City
Engineer be, and he is ereb.,- instructed, to personally investigate
all matters in connection with the work now in progress on Cherokee
Lane especially as to furthering speeding up of the work that is
laming and causing much_ complaint by reason of the way in which
the contractor is handling the . job;
3urthermore, that he endeavor to find methods -whereby some of
the streets may be partly opened to traffic, especially Pine Street
that is a through street, and have the contractor .take more
effective methods of lessening the dust nuisance.
Sills 10,569.07 were ordered paid on motion of Councilman
Weihe, seconded by Councilman Roach.
On motion of Councilman Weihe, the City Council adjourned to
the day and hour of its next regular meeting, Monday, ugust 17, 1931.
