onday,June 22,1931
Pursuant to adjournment taken from the regular meeting
held June 15th, the ity Council of the City of Lodi met in
adjourned regular session at 8 o'clock,.. on the date first
above written, Councilmen Keagle, Steele, Jeihe present at
roll -call, Councilman Roach appearing at 8.04 o'clock.
Mr Farley, claiming to represent Raymond H. Cru mey,
contractor in the improvement o? portions of Cherokee Lane,
addressed the Council regarding several purported difficulties
met with and raised to start work at once. No action taken.
Supt. of Public Utilities, John A. Henning, filed a
written report on the aoplication of J.R.Jorden for extension
of larger water main and the installing of sewage facilities
on his place on South Stockton ;venue. As':r Henning estimated
that the cost would be about $390.00 for serer extension and
$175,00 for Nater main enlargement, no action :gas taken, his
report being ordered accepted and filed.
The application of Joe Yoshe for electric service from
the sewage disposal plant was denied as this place could be
Served by ?acinic Gas & Electric Company.
it Henning stated that he had an aolication from Mrs
E.Cunningham for sewer extension to her lands on the 'Jest end
of"Daisy Avenue.
Huldriech E. Looser, as President of Lodi Volunteer
Fire Department asked the Council to increase the nay of
L:r Geo. D. Polenske, Fire Chief, now serving at $2b.00 tier
month. Cn motion of Councilman Keagle, Steele second, the
salary of Fire Chief ?olenske was increased to $100.00 per
month effective on and after July 1, 1931.
At the order of the Mayor, the City Council adjourned
to the day su_,_;ested by Er Farley as being convenient to his
principal for submitting propositions for the immediate
co mencement of work on the Cherokee Lane job, namely, to
8 o'clock P.M. of wednesday, June 26, 1931.
Note:- :":r Glenn :est, City Attorney, having had word
that •r Cr mme� was willing to proceed "without further con-
ferance, I called the :ayor by telephone and also notified
.Councilman Keaaggle,Steele,Roacand Weihe that the meeting of
June 26th would be unnecessary and no meeting was had.
