:his regular meeting of the City Council of the City
of Lodi was called to order by the 'Layer at 8.03 o'cloek r:
on the date first above written; Councilmen Keagle, Roach,
Steele, .7eihe and Spooner present, none absent.
The minutes of the regular meeting held ::arch 2nd and
the adjourned meeting of 'March 9th.,1931 were read, approved
as read and so endorsed by the ".iayor.
The order o: Public Hearings •:ras passed and the Clerk
read a le:ter from :Tallace & Tiernan advocating the duplicat-
ion cf chlorinating apparatus at the sewage disposal plant.

ly owned utilities :could come before the Senate Committee on
Public Utilities of the afternoon of the following Thursday

A letter procosinp the trial installation of a new
fire siE al from J. .Hedoerg of San Jose has read and passed
withoutaction as the present sinal .,as re Sorted to be in
good order at the date of the last test.
Cn a':-lication of r G.D.i olerske, Fire Chief, the
Street Superintendent was instructed to repair or replace the
gutter infrontof the east -side fire station. The curb and
gutter on the 500 block of S.Central Avenue was also ordered
replaced.

ally passed, adopted and ordered to :print by the following
vote:- -

The mayor then a proved and signed each of the fore-
going ordinances.
Seven building permits aggregating $9,415.00 were
ordered granted; Permit No. 934 tor a frame garage building
at 123 N. Sacramento S' was denied a.rs beim witnin the
fire limits.
It was regularly moved and seconded that the existing
contract for a+oage collection with Sanitary City Scavenger
Company be cancelled as of dune'3Oth,1931 and a new contract
be entered into for a period of five years from and after
that date.
Cn motion of Councilman Steele, Keagle second the act-
ion of the CityCouncil on Larch 2nd was modified and amended
so that the Caifornia State Base -ball League should pay to
the City 10% of the fnd oroposed to be divided between the
`olayers at the end of the seasons games.

The City Council authorized further continuance of
the action by the following;

of the Citv of di hereby authorizes and instructs the City's
attorneys in said case to enter into a stipulation whereby
the date of said trial shall be. continued Tor a period of
sixty (60) days from and after the first da of loril, 1931,
provided said continuance shall cause no extra expense to
said City.
